He said — you can walk into a room and you can smell the incense. You can feel the presence of God on a person who has given everything over to Him. That is not personality. That is surrender. It is at the feet of Jesus. And you only get there when you are done negotiating. Done saying — Lord show me what you want me to do and I'll tell you whether I'll do it. He said the prayer that changes everything is simpler than that. Lord — I'll do it. What is it? Come fully committed. And He will tell you what to do. Five. Come into His Word — and actually understand it. Adrian Rogers said something that stopped every room he ever said it in. He said — you don't know God by Bible study. You know about Him. Boys go to seminary and backslide with a Bible under their arm. What good is it if you know Hebrew and don't know Him. What good is it if you know Greek and don't know God. Bible study gives you knowledge about God. Obedience to what you understand gives you knowledge of God. There is a difference. You cannot surrender to promises you have never truly read. You cannot be faithfully compliant to a God whose voice you have never actually heard on the page.
