💪💪I bet you didn’t know how or even why Rock the Clock Started….here it is !!!❤️❤️ July 22, 2017 is when Main Street became alive again. That night, I stood there with my son Myles and Bruce Daniels watching just a few hundred people gather where there had once been silence—and I realized something powerful was beginning. Back in 2017, my son Myles and I had one simple idea. We wanted to say thank you to the Village of Plain City for welcoming us into the community. At the time, downtown felt quiet, and many people told us, “It just isn’t like it used to be.” As we talked to longtime residents, we kept hearing stories about when Plain City was full of life—especially during the old Popcorn Festival. We wanted to help bring that feeling back. So we asked a simple question: What if we shut down Main Street and threw a concert for the community? That first year, all we wanted was a cover band. The Reaganomics took the stage, the streets filled with people, and Rock the Clock was born. One person who believed in us from the very beginning was Bruce Daniels. Bruce took Myles under his wing because he had a heart for people struggling with addiction. After a hospital accident, Myles became addicted to prescription pain medication, and Bruce understood the importance of hope, compassion, and second chances. None of us knew that 2017 would be the last Rock the Clock that Bruce, Myles, and I would ever share together. In 2018, Myles lost his battle after a relapse and a fentanyl overdose. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Rock the Clock, and it feels incredibly meaningful that Bruce Daniels and I will once again stand together on that stage to honor Myles. This year, we’re partnering with Marysville Honda to turn their famous smiley face into “Smyles for Myles.” It’s more than a logo. It’s a reminder that every smile can represent hope, healing, and remembering someone who left this world far too soon. Bruce and I will share Myles’ story from the stage, talk about the incredible work Bruce continues to do in the recovery community, and remind everyone why Rock the Clock has always been about more than music. Yes, it’s a day filled with great bands, family fun, kids’ activities, food vendors, and thousands of people enjoying Plain City. But at its heart, Rock the Clock has always been about community, hope, and making sure Myles’ life continues to make a difference. Every year, we honor Myles through addiction and overdose awareness because if his story can help even one person choose recovery, or one family avoid the pain we’ve lived through, then his legacy continues.
