The picture on the left explains what a Kefiyah really is and where it comes from. The picture on the right is from my book "Zionism and Anti-Zionism." It is a picture from an Arab riot to kill the Jews, at the Damascus Gate of Jerusalem in 1920. This is one of my favorite pictures in the book. Why? Because you can look closely at the headware and scarving of the crowd of Palestinians. What do you see? Most importantly, what don't you see? You don't see any Keffiyahs. Why not? Because the Keffiyah is not traditional headware of "Palestinians." The first recorded appearance of the Keffiyah in Palestine was in the 1930s when Bedouins, having appropriated it from Iraq, started using it to hide their faces when they killed Jewish farmers. It reappeared in the 1948 war. It became a costume in the 1960s when the terrorist Yasser Arafat decided to make it part of his terrorist costume, and now the costume of terrorism is all over the West, pretending to be a traditional Palestinian garb. That's appropriate. Buy the book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D8FMW7R5?ref_=cm_sw_r_ffobk_cp_ud_dp_VPVEMQQK1QB355E98B9Y_2&bestFormat=true
