Ad text
Your spray, your dishwasher tablets and your laundry detergent have one thing in common. None of them tells you the whole story on the label, and each one has a reason to read it. The spray is the cough. Research that followed people cleaning their own homes for about twenty years found their lung function declined faster, on a scale the researchers compared to smoking roughly 15 cigarettes a day across that period. Twenty years, not one Saturday, but it's a real finding about ordinary housework. The laundry detergent is the word "fragrance". It can legally stand for dozens of chemicals the brand never has to name, and some of the ones that hide there are classified as endocrine disruptors. The dishwasher tablets are alcohol ethoxylates, a rinse-aid ingredient that a 2023 study found damaged gut-lining cells in the lab. Tablets don't always dissolve fully, so some of it can stay on the plate. If, like me, you'd rather not, you don't have to stop cleaning. And I don't mean vinegar in a spray bottle. I use Dip's bundle: laundry sheets, dishwasher sheets and the surface cleaner. Every ingredient is printed on the label, fragrance included. Plastic-free packaging on all three. The house smells fresh, and it's clean rather than perfumed. More than 100,000 UK families have swapped. 50% off your first order.
