Save this for your next weekend in Leavenworth 🏔️ Leavenworth might be known for its adorable Bavarian downtown, but some of my favorite adventures in Washington are hiding right outside of town. So if I were planning the perfect Leavenworth weekend, here’s exactly what I’d do: 🏨 WHERE TO STAY: La Quinta by Wyndham Leavenworth About a mile from downtown, so it makes an easy home base for exploring town and getting out into the mountains. Plus, complimentary breakfast is included — and yes, you have to make one of their famous waffles. 🧇 🥾 GO BIG: Colchuck Lake 8ish miles round trip with some serious elevation gain, but THAT VIEW. If you want one big adventure for the weekend, make it this one. 🔥 BEST REWARD FOR THE EFFORT: Red Top Lookout Only about 1.5 miles round trip with 350 feet of elevation gain for a fire lookout and some seriously beautiful mountain views. This one feels almost unfair for how little you have to hike. 🌲 TAKE IT EASY: Old Pipeline Bed Trail Short, easy, and especially gorgeous in the fall. This is my pick when you want pretty views without committing your entire day to a hike. 🌄 BEST SUNSET: Lake Wenatchee Bring dinner, find a spot by the water and hang around until the light disappears behind the mountains. ☕ MY FAVORITE COFFEE STOP: Argonaut Coffee & Biscuits The coffee is excellent, the avocado toast is perfection, and there’s usually a line out the door — for good reason. I genuinely drool over that avocado toast. And obviously, leave plenty of time to wander around Little Bavaria pretending you’ve somehow ended up in Germany. Tonight La Quinta, Tomorrow You Shine.
