AI 5 is an AI-powered set-top box designed for the Korean telecom company SK Broadband. As the next generation of SK Broadband‘s AI product family, the design continues the minimalist language established in AI 4 Vision while further reducing its visual presence. By removing elements such as visible buttons and even the branding, while hiding visible parting lines, AI 5 takes on a quiet, object-like character that naturally blends into interiors. This solves the common issue of consumers hiding their set-top boxes and keeps its voice interaction easily accessible. The defining character of AI 5 is its natural surface texture, giving the minimal form a sculptural presence, and design details have been developed around this concept of a pure solid object where the main parting line is positioned along the edge of the form. A rear cutout conceals cable connections while maintaining a compact internal layout, making it one of the smallest in its product category.
