What’s the worst thing that could happen on your first day as a supernatural investigator? I thought it was murder, until the corpse walked out of the morgue. I'm Rosemary Kreuz, and I babysit monsters for a living. Vampires, shifters, witches—I make sure they don't eat the tourists in scenic Elkins, West Virginia. It's the supernatural equivalent of a dead-end desk job, complete with a boss who thinks he's Michael Scott with a badge. To make matters worse, I’m new—sent here for my own “protection.” My new boss’s brilliant idea? Film our routine audit from Charleston headquarters as if we're starring in a reality show. So now I've got cameras following me around and an annoyingly handsome auditor watching my every move. Then a tourist gets murdered in the most visceral way possible. In my territory. Through wards I definitely checked. We’ve got a murder on our hands, until… the body gets up and walks out of the morgue. The Appalachians hide old magic and older secrets. I just need to survive long enough to uncover them. Dive into this fast-paced urban fantasy series if you love murder mysteries, supernatural bureaucracy, sarcastic heroines, and slow-burn romance with a side of found family.
