Daydreaming! I don’t believe I’ve ever read any writing about daydreaming, whether for or against. Oswald Chambers writes from both sides of the coin. After telling the disciples He does only what His Father instructs Him to do, Jesus says, “Rise let us go away from here.” No time for daydreaming, work has been ordered. So it seems if Father has told us what to do, but we continue to daydream on the situation, it’s not good. It is an indication we are not trusting God. But then, if He has not given us the Word, the right thinking and doing, and fatigue, confusion, doubt, and temptation threaten our thoughts and actions, then it’s time to go off and be mindful and in prayer for the Spirit-led initiative. Scriptures take us through that process of seeking Father’s will and the Spirit’s inspiration to follow through. Because of the danger of casting off His peace and remembering the “good and happiness”, prayer is the first step toward receiving the initiative to wait and expect by seeking, inquiring, and requiring the necessary “authority of God’s Word”. Waiting involves sitting alone “uncomplaining and silent in hope”. He is the Source of all dreams, joys, and delights if the Holy Spirit is given authority to be all He can be in our daydreams, especially when the heart is involved! (Ref: John 14:31; Mark 6:31; Lam. 3:17, 21. 25, 28)
