My name is Marco Redavid and we own a professional haircare company in Vancouver, B.C. born out of my Dad's hair salon and I just want to say how blessed and thankful we are that there is a real movement to support small businesses. In so many ways it matters today now more than ever when massive corporations take the heart and soul out of creating things or even offering services to communities. For us it's always been about hair, but it's also more than that. This is a family thing. To me, even today the single most important thing to me in business is this: you treat everyone like family. Because family isn't just blood, it's also a promise. My Dad made one to me when I was small. I'll never forget those days on the road going from hair show to show, eating salt and vinegar chips, and looking proudly up at him when he'd let it all out on stage...like a rockstar of hair. He worked hard, never stopped, and never gave up, because he told me this: all our lives...we build. We build a life and home for the people that we love, but more than that we build a legacy, something that we hope will endure. We also make a promise, as one does to family: "I'm doing all of this for you." We live in a period in history where marketing has gotten louder, busier, slicker and more cunning. A company being humble was an expectation in 1924, but in 2025 it is the exception to the norm. In a century of the unreal, as my Dad always says, "you just gotta be real with people...everyone just wants to be loved, wants to love their hair. When you feel it, you have to feel like love was put in that bottle. That's what we do. It's as simple as that.
