Book Presentation, Q&A & Collage Workshop with Nicholas Vaughan At We Need Books Multilingual Library in Kypseli, we welcome artist and writer Nicholas Vaughan for an evening that blends literature, satire, visual art, and hands-on creativity. 📘 Book Presentation & Q&A — The Unwrapping In The Unwrapping, Vaughan imagines a darkly comic scenario: an Ancient Egyptian mummy is unwrapped in the 1920s and unknowingly triggers a new pandemic. A group of self-appointed modern “pharaohs” impose restrictions on the population while continuing to enjoy their privileges, revealing the absurdities of power and life under lockdown. Through satire and a wildly imaginative reworking of Ancient Egypt, the novel offers a humorous and unsettling reflection that feels strikingly familiar. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A discussion with the author. ✂️ Collage Workshop for Adults — Create Your Own Character Inspired by the visual and narrative world of The Unwrapping, participants will create their own personalized characters using collage techniques. Playful, expressive, and imaginative figures that could belong to any time period, real or invented. No prior experience is needed. Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own papers, magazines, photos, or scraps you would like to incorporate into your work. Saturday, May 30 18:00 – 20:00 We Need Books Multilingual Library 7 Evias St., Kypseli Join us for an evening where literature meets art, satire meets creativity, and ancient worlds collide with our own. #theunwrapping #NicholasVaughan #MeetTheAuthor
