Sometimes in marriage you have to pick and choose your battles… But unfortunately my husband was right this time. Yesterday was like any other day. I'm a 3rd grade teacher, so I was excited to get home and relax after a long day of teaching. When I walked in the door, however, I had to take a deep breath. Why were my laundry pods taped to the ceiling fan? That’s when my husband excitedly ran in the room, eager to tell me about what he found out about the laundry detergent we’ve been using for years. It turns out, he actually had a method to his madness. Apparently experts just discovered that liquid laundry detergent and laundry pods are actually packed full of toxic chemicals. Things like 1,4-Dioxane, Optical Brighteners, Synthetic Dyes…ingredients that cause skin issues, respiratory problems, and even CANCER. The worst part? Those dangerous ingredients don’t even have to be listed on the label. How is that legal? Frankly, as a mom, I was horrified! How had I not known that laundry detergent may be the reason my kids always had mysterious skin rashes? That’s why I decided to do the hard work for you. I researched and tried all the “Non-Toxic” laundry detergents I could find, and compiled all my findings into one blog post. I linked the article below if you want to check it out: Top 5 Laundry Detergents to AVOID Cancer-Causing Chemicals.
