Ad text

There is something I’ve been reflecting on deeply lately. When I was in my mid twenties, I wrote a poem about longing to walk beside another soul in truth. Not in performance. Not in masks. Not in roles or perfection. But in honesty. In presence. In shared humanity. I wrote about wanting to journey through the landscapes of our hearts together… through darkness and light… through healing and becoming… back toward what we truly are beneath all the conditioning and pain. Recently, I paired those words with one of my Pentimento Frequency paintings titled Restored Innocence, and something profound moved through me. I realized that my voice has always been consistent at its core. The language has matured. The teachings have distilled. The nervous system understanding has deepened. But the heartbeat is the same. And there is something deeply healing about recognizing that. So often we think growth means becoming someone entirely different. But true transformation is not abandoning who we once were. It is becoming more coherent with what has always been true underneath. Not rejecting my younger self… but finally understanding her. Honoring her. Seeing that beneath all the searching, striving, heartbreak, healing, learning, creating, and rebuilding… there was always a deeper thread quietly guiding me home. Like an inner compass, steady and true even through the wildest storms. I think part of what moved me so deeply in revisiting that poem was realizing this: The thread never actually broke. Even in the confusion. Even in the trauma. Even in the longing. Even in the periods where I doubted myself or felt lost. The deeper current and inner compass remained intact. There is something profoundly reassuring in realizing that. Many of us spend years believing our sensitivity, longing, tenderness, creativity, or yearning for something more true means that something is wrong with us. What if though, many of the deepest longings we carry are not signs that we are broken? Not signs that something is missing in us, but rather is directing us. What if they are signals pointing toward what our soul came here to remember, embody, and create? Not every longing, of course. But some longings are directional. There is a different quality and frequency to those longings. Sacred breadcrumbs. I have seen many sensitive souls spend years trying to suppress those longings because the world teaches us to mistrust depth, tenderness, intuition, yearning, imagination, emotional truth, and the ache for something more real. I was one of them. Especially when those parts of us were not fully understood, mirrored, protected, or honoured growing up. There is a deep lonelyness and longing that can confuse us. We begin overriding ourselves. Hardening ourselves. Questioning ourselves. Trying to become more acceptable. More practical. Less “too much.” But what if some of the very things we spent years trying to suppress… were actually trying to lead us home to our essential true self, before trauma, pain and loss left their mark in us? That changes everything. Healing then becomes less about fixing ourselves… and more about learning how to listen again. To breathe again. To be again. To trust what feels true in the deeper quiet beneath the noise of our survival patterns and reactions.. I think this is why my younger self’s poem still moves me so deeply now at 55. I can see now, more clearly than ever, that what I thought was unrealistic romantic longing was actually something much deeper: a longing for authentic connection, for truth, for shared humanity, for the healing of separation, for relationship rooted in presence rather than masks, and for the remembrance of the oneness that exists beneath our fear and fragmentation. I also see now how, somehow, over decades, that same longing became my life’s work. It defines and directs everything I do and create. My retreats. My teachings. My art. My writing. My sound healing. My speaking. My future affirmation cards. My devotion to helping people remember the wholeness beneath the survival patterns they carry. Not because my journey was easy., far from it:) But because I kept following those sacred breadcrumbs through darkness, uncertainty, beauty, heartbreak, healing, and becoming… and slowly discovered they were leading somewhere real all along. All my sweet, sincere, beautiful past selves never gave up. For that I am so grateful. That is also part of what inspired my Pentimento Frequency Art. The word pentimento refers to hidden layers in a painting becoming visible over time. Before each piece is painted, I write a word or frequency beneath the layers—words such as surrender, innocence, love, remembrance, peace, or resilience—and then allow the imagery to emerge intuitively through the process itself. What moves me now is a deepening of the awareness that our lives are not so different. Beneath all the layers we developed to survive… something essential is still trying to emerge. This is giving me clarity on why and how my work touches the people it does. Not because I have life perfectly figured out. But because I am not speaking from theory alone. I am speaking from the lived experience of someone who has walked through pain, searching, loss, healing, rebuilding, wonder, and becoming… while trying to remain in relationship with the deeper truth quietly calling underneath it all. I sense that the people who resonate with my work often carry that same quiet longing inside themselves. The sensitive ones. The seekers. The artists. The deep feelers. The visionaries and entrepreneurs. The ones who never fully fit into the hardened rhythms of the world. Who want to live life authentically on their terms. The ones who secretly ache for something more true. If that is you, I simply want to remind you: Your depth is not your weakness. Your longing is not your failure. And the parts of you that still yearn for truth, beauty, connection, meaning, love, expression and wholeness may not be signs that something is missing or wrong with you at all. Maybe they are sacred breadcrumbs... leading to the hidden treasures buried deep in your heart and soul. Always within you waiting for your return. I am grateful for the guides and mentors that little by little, mirrored essential parts of me back to me, so that i could find my way home. If this resonates with you, and if it feels like walking beside someone on that journey would support you, I invite and welcome you to explore my reflections, retreats, art, books and teachings whenever the timing feels aligned for you.
