Just as Jennie rounded the corner to pass the stairs going up to the second story of the aircraft, the plane lurched, and she pitched forward. Strong arms caught her around her middle, and before she knew what was happening, she was trapped with her back against the wall next to the staircase. Her front was pressed up against a tall hard body. The plane was shaking and lurching, and she threw her arms around the man’s body and fisted her hands in his shirt to hold on. There was a ding and an alert over the speakers telling everyone to find their seats and put on their seat belts, but Jennie had no intension of moving at that moment. Not that she would have been able to if she tried. The man was keeping her tightly squeezed between the wall and his body. He was like a full body safety harness, a sturdy one, keeping her firmly in place. She felt safe. For some reason, she just knew this guy would never let anything happen to her. He would keep her safe if at all possible. Call it instinct, but Jennie had total confidence in him, a stranger. The shaking eased, and she looked up into a pair of warm brown eyes framed by thick black lashes. He was tall, probably about six foot four, and his face was ruggedly handsome. He looked like a man who spent a lot of time outside, sporting a deep tan and a very becoming five o’clock shadow. His sandy-blond hair was short and a bit messy. “Thank you. I think I’d have hurt myself it you hadn’t been there to save me.” “My pleasure, ma’am.
