How we count

Ad text

I’ve been digging into some research on sauna use and cardiovascular health, and it lines up with a lot of how I already think about adaptation. 🫀 When you sit in a sauna, your body treats that heat as a stressor. Besides all the amazing benefits for your brain…. Heart rate goes up. Blood vessels dilate. Blood flow increases. 🩸🩸🩸 Over time, repeated exposure can support better blood pressure regulation and improved cardiovascular function. What’s interesting is that this follows the same pattern we see in training. You apply a stress. The body adapts. You repeat that process in a tolerable dose, and the system becomes more resilient. That’s hormesis in action. Sauna isn’t a replacement for training… but it can be another useful input when used appropriately — especially alongside regular movement. It can also be a great “chill out routine”. We also see people building sauna communities all over the place. Start with shorter exposures, build tolerance, and pay attention to how your body responds. No need even to make it hotter than 180-190. Same rules as everything else. If you want to stay up to date on the research I’m paying attention to and how it actually applies to your training ➡️ comment AMBUSH and I’ll loop you in every Friday (no spam!).
