Ad text

A fresh grave hides an old secret. And someone will kill to protect it. When mourners gather in the quiet village of Bexford to say their final goodbyes, no one expects a scream to bring the service to a halt. Lying in the freshly dug grave is not the dearly departed, but a stranger. Newly partnered Detective Inspector Sam Brock and Detective Sergeant Guy Poole are thrust into their first case together, and it’s anything but straightforward. As Poole settles into village life, and tries to leave his past behind, he quickly learns that Bexford is a place where secrets linger and nothing stays buried for long. With Brock’s sharp instincts and Poole’s determination, the pair begin to unravel a web of old grudges, hidden histories, and long-simmering tensions. But when another death rocks the community, it becomes clear someone is willing to kill to keep the truth underground. In a village full of whispers and watchful eyes, Brock and Poole must dig deep to uncover what really happened… before the killer strikes again. ‘An Occupied Grave’ is the charming and twisty first instalment in the Brock and Poole Mystery series by A.G. Barnett - perfect for fans of cosy mystery, clever puzzles, and small-town secrets.
