1974 Plymouth Gran Fury Sport Suburban Wagon — Survivor, Original Sienna Metallic, 440 V8 You may recognize this wagon from TV — it starred in Burger King's "Polite Mummy" Halloween commercial last October: https://youtu.be/gsGHK5o2Dp4 It's also set to appear in an upcoming student short film, The Asch Effect. These wagons are nearly impossible to find in any condition, let alone this one. A West Coast car with low miles, it wears its original factory Sienna Metallic paint, brought back to a beautiful shine with a careful polish. This is the top-of-the-line C-body full-size Plymouth wagon for '74, equipped with the legendary 440 V8 (a rare option and the last year for that engine), plus factory A/C, AM/FM radio, and cruise control. It runs, drives, and stops well, with working turn signals and brake lights. The engine and transmission run very well. From every indication, the engine has never been out of the car. Recent work includes: * Now running an Edelbrock Performer carb for easier starts (original carburetor professionally rebuilt — included with the car, but not installed) * New Mopar ignition system and wires * Fresh quality aftermarket carpet * New tires (the originals had tread but dated to the mid-'90s and were dry-rotted) *Repaired door handles and linkage — all doors now open and close properly * Replaced the warped, leaking factory valve covers with chrome valve covers The original wood decals were destroyed by sun and age, which damaged the paint beneath them. I had the trim removed, the affected areas taken to bare metal, and everything repainted — a significant time and money investment that came out great. Honest condition notes: The body, trim, and glass are in very good shape, and the front grille has no road rash. The interior shows its sun exposure — the seats are dry-rotted and the molded headliner is gone — though the rear seats still look great (I suspect this was an older owner's occasional-use car, not a family hauler). Seat belts all work but can be temperamental. The rear gate currently opens as a door but not as a tailgate; I have the linkage to make it function but haven't tackled the repair. I haven't tested the A/C or cruise control and suspect they don't work. I have videos of the engine running, the car driving, and the doors operating. It's a great survivor as-is, but wouldn't take much more to push toward a full restoration if that's your goal. Located in Chicago's northwest suburbs — test drives welcome.
