ππππ«π ππ‘π π¬ππ«π’ππ¬ π’π§ πππππ ππ¨πππ²! It was still darkest night. The water black and gleaming like liquid metal, but the moonlight sparkling on its surface wherever it bobbed and rippled. I froze at the sight of Melek with his back to me, rising like a God from the lake, water sluicing down his body leaving it wet and shining in the moonlight as he gasped at the cold. He stood, not quite waist-deep in the inky black, his hands extended and flat on the surface, his dark hair reflecting moonlight like the flat of a blade. The muscles of his back seemed carved from marble, yet they rippled and bunched with the slightest move. For a moment I was taken by the sheer beauty of him. That broad back expanded as he took a deep breath. Then I watched, mouth dry, as he dropped into the water again, submerging entirelyβ¦ and this time when he came up his back was obscured by a pair of massive wings, feathered and black as night, but gleaming with the water. He braced as he stretched them out until they shadowed the water for a dozen feet either side of him. I couldnβt inhale. Unaware of my scrutiny, he extended the right wing and turned to examine it. His face came into profileβthe hard line of his jaw, his brows rugged but not heavy. His expression firm. Certain. Assured. Then his chest expanded again and he raised both wings high, stretching them as he arched his back, the moonlight highlighting the gleam of skin and feather. He groaned and that soundβso masculineβvibrated in my belly and I sucked in a breath. Melek heard my sharp intake and turned quickly, wings snapping in preparation for flight. But our gazes locked. And even at this distance, he pinned me with those eyes. Neither of us made a sound, but the air hummed, that undeniable electricity crackling from his gaze. Then all at once, I was reminded who he was. What he did. Who he served. How impossible it would be to ever get close to him. And all that energy building within me combusted to white-hot rage as I launched myself at him in a fury. π€ ππππ πππππππ πππ ππππππ π€ "I love the twist in this book. Lots of action, never a dull moment. I canβt wait to read the next one." βNichlas, Amazon Reviewer "I was immediately swept away into this fantasy world! Melek is loyal, fierce, and unapologetic; not a βgolden retrieverβ hero necessarily, more like a Doberman. Yilan is disciplined, calculated, and witty. This leads to many tests of wills between the two and banter that is just fun[...]" βRebecca, Amazon Reviewer "Melek is sWoOnWoRtHy. He is the whole package- large, in charge, and dare I sayβ¦a little ethereal (in a masculine, boss kind of way). The fantasy element is well played, and you are immersed in a world that is harsh, but beautiful at the same time." βCaroline, Amazon Reviewer "The intricate world-building, where angels are depicted as formidable adversaries, provided a fresh and captivating backdrop. [The] journey from sworn enemies to reluctant allies is masterfully woven with tension, wit, and undeniable chemistry. The plot is rich with unexpected twists, and the slow-burn romance had me eagerly turning pages. [...] making this a must-read for fans of dark romantasy." βAnne, Amazon Reviewer π‘πππππ &π‘πππ : Dual adult POV (No teenage MCs), true enemies-to-lovers, strong FL, forced proximity, age gap, He Falls First, fated mates, fae/creatures, angels/demons, witty banter, adult spice, and a helluva lot of violence.
