We’ve forgotten what a body is actually supposed to do. It was never supposed to look flawless. It was supposed to carry us through our lives. To heal. To grow. To love. To laugh until our stomachs hurt. To hold the people we care about. To carry us through every ordinary day and every extraordinary one. Your stretch marks, scars, wrinkles, softness and every other change your body carries aren’t proof that something has gone wrong. They’re reminders that your body has adapted, healed, protected you, created life, survived heartbreak and carried you through seasons that mattered. Instead of asking yourself how your body looks today, maybe ask yourself what it has helped you do. The people it has hugged. The places it has taken you. The laughs that left your stomach sore.
