ad | These worktops were well past their prime… water damage, peeling silicone, and some serious wear and tear. But instead of ripping them out, I gave them a budget-friendly makeover using @frenchicpaint new vinyl wrap. It’s durable, stylish, and surprisingly easy to install. I started by removing the old silicone and giving the wooden surface a proper prep with sanding and sugar soap. To apply, I rolled out the wrap, measured and cut it to size, and used a light spritz of water to help get the placement just right. Once in position, I squeeged it down bit by bit, using a heat gun to wrap the edges smoothly. The trickiest bit was the sink, but by scoring the underside and working from the centre outwards, it all came together with minimal fuss. I trimmed the edges, overlapped and sliced for seamless joins, and finished with fresh silicone for a watertight seal. The end result? A fresh, modern look that completely transformed the space, all without replacing the worktops. #diyhomedecor #diyprojects #kitchenworktops #vinylwraps #vinylwrapping #vinylwrap #frenchic
