At just 26 years old, Taylor is showing what true strength looks like in the face of breast cancer. A Crystal Lake resident and police social worker with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor’s journey began when she discovered a lump while home sick in April. With family history of breast cancer, she didn’t wait, and her quick action led to a stage II triple-negative breast cancer diagnosis in June. Taylor began chemotherapy in July at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, participating in the SCARLET study and using cold capping to help preserve her hair and a sense of normalcy. On October 14, she proudly completed her final chemo session and is preparing for a double mastectomy in November. Throughout her treatment, Taylor has continued serving her community and sharing her journey on TikTok to raise awareness among young women and encourage early detection. “I was diagnosed for a purpose, and I’m still figuring that out,” Taylor said. “But if I can raise awareness for younger women like me, that’s my goal.” We're cheering you on, Taylor! 🩷 Click here to learn more about our breast cancer care: https://bit.ly/46tFSyC
