The Bonnet House was built by artist Frederic Clay Bartlett as a winter retreat, and today it houses a diverse collection of paintings, sculptures and artifacts. After you explore the galleries and gardens, you can rent paddle boards or kayaks and journey through its Coconut Cove. On this watery voyage, you’ll find migratory birds, wetland waders, and even the occasional manatee swimming in the Boathouse Canal. It’s also not uncommon to see raccoons, iguanas—or even a monkey—while strolling along the estate’s lush trails.
