How I order our Our Cow box & turn it into family meals for the week 🥩 I start with proteins I know we’ll actually use: beef mince, chicken breast, nitrate-free ham & bacon, plus a cut of meat for the slow cooker. That gives me a mix of quick meals & one cook-up that usually stretches across two dinners. Here’s what that looks like in our kitchen: 🥩 Beef mince: Cook a big batch & use it for rice bowls, sweet potato bowls for meal prep base, homemade pizzas & simple pasta sauce. Freeze the rest in meal-sized portions. 🍗 Chicken breast: Cook extra at dinner, then add the leftovers to salads, soups, wraps or pizza (I store them in portions in the freezer). 🥓 Ham & bacon: Handy for quick meals like eggs, fried rice, homemade pizzas or a frittata with whatever vegetables need using up. 🍲 A slow-cooking cut: Make enough for dinner one night, then serve the leftovers differently the next with rice, veggies, on burgers or in wraps. I keep seasonal fruit & vegetables, rice & homemade wraps + pizza base on hand so I can put a meal together around whichever protein suits the day. I don’t map out every dinner. Having a stocked freezer & a few cooked portions ready to go makes family meals feel much easier when the week gets busy 🤎
