Chaaya Prabhat has a knack for seeing stories in the everyday. A simit cart she photographed in Istanbul became part of her 'Catstanbul' series, complete with a black cat perched on top of the bread. A tailor shop she photographed also found its way into one of her illustrations, transformed into a richly detailed scene. Based in Chennai, Prabhat studied graphic design at SCAD Hong Kong before going on to work with clients including Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Disney Hyperion, Google and Snapchat. She's also the illustrator behind the critically acclaimed 'Anni Dreams of Biryani', along with children's books such as 'The Best Diwali Ever' and 'Bracelets for Bina's Brothers'.
