Not all leadership lessons happen in lecture halls or boardrooms. Some happen 470 metres up a trail to Crooked Falls. Recently, UBC Professional MBA students stepped beyond the classroom for the inaugural Outdoor Leadership Lab, delivered in partnership with the Montalbano Centre for Responsible Leadership Development. Set in nature and designed to spark real-time reflection, the experience challenged students to navigate uncertainty, collaborate under pressure and gain deeper insight into their own leadership styles. As Academic Director Dr. Jon Evans puts it, “In the classroom, it's easy to say that leaders need to step up and create a vision.
