Ad copy

My boy sent me this in March. I called him a clown the day it arrived. Showed it to three of my friends in the group chat. We all clowned him. Made jokes about it for a week. I didn't open it for two months. I picked it up on a Sunday when I was hungover and bored and the TV remote was on the other side of the room. Read it on the couch in one sitting. Texted him at midnight: "I owe you an apology." He didn't reply. He's read it three times. He knew the apology was coming. This week I bought four copies. One for my brother. One for the guy who's been my best friend since 7th grade and is on his second engagement that isn't going to work. One for the dude in my group chat who hasn't dated anyone past month three since 2019. And one for the kid I mentor. I addressed the envelopes with the same Sharpie I'm holding in this picture.
