Seneca When you're a child of five or six, you watch your family and dream of being like them one day. No matter what it is that they do, whether it be for work or just around the house. You want to grow up to be just like them. With me, it was the same way. I wanted to be just like the women in my family. I dreamed of growing up to be like them, not realizing that not only was I already like them. But that it would end up causing me trouble for a while. The women in my family were all bayou witches and had powers of some sort. My Mom and Nanna owned a shop called Tarot. They sold things that had to do with witches. They had herbs for spells, tarot cards, crystal balls, gems, books, candles, cauldrons, and so much more. They also did tarot and crystal ball readings. And unlike most places that you go to for that and get ripped off, their store was real. When they told you your fortune, they told you what would actually happen. Or at least as much as the cards and spirits would allow. I loved that they could both just look at someone and know stuff about them. They didn't have to look at the cards or the ball, but they did. It was all for show so that people would believe them. At the time, I didn't know what else they could do. As I got older, the bayou witch gene started to come through. I started to be able to see people's futures just like Mom and Nanna. But I was able to communicate with ghosts as well. The older that I got, the more that I was able to see. It was when I was around fifteen that I was able to start seeing and communicating with spirits. The first one that I met was a young guy who died at the age of twenty-five in the 1950s. At first, he was attached to an area in New Orleans. But somehow, he was able to attach himself to me. So now Octavius is always with me. I spent most of my time until I started school at the shop with Mom and Nanna. But when they were really busy, I would go with my dad and brothers to hang out at The Cajun Gators club house. I didn't like going there because there weren't any girls my age that I liked to play with. Both the boys and girls my age were mean. The only thing that I liked about going to the clubhouse was Roman, better known as Midnight. He was twenty-one when I was five and had always been my favorite person. My dad said that when I was two and just starting to talk, I would call Roman my night-night. He was prospecting for the club at the time. And when he made it to be a full brother, they named him Midnight for me. He's always been my night-night, though. I stopped going around the clubhouse because of bullying at school. At first, school was fine when I was younger. But the older that I got, the worse that it got, thanks to the school's mean girls. Once I got into high school, those girls all became cheerleaders. They thought that they ran the school. And because of that, they liked to bully and belittle those that they considered below them. When we were younger, a couple of those girls were my friends. Then we got to high school, and they became cheerleaders and turned mean and hateful towards me. Because I was a heavy-set girl, they liked to make fun of me for it. I saw nothing bad about my weight. I was five feet tall with long red hair with bright blue highlights. I had heterochromia, one blue eye and one light gray eye. I was a size fourteen (not telling my actual weight because we don't ask girls what they weigh), and I was very comfortable with it and how I looked. Because they were all size zeros and ones, they thought that anyone who was bigger was disgusting. But in my opinion, being so skinny that you can see your bones and you look anorexic is disgusting. I'd rather be considered fat instead of sickly thin. Not only that, but I love good food. I'm not a rabbit, and I refuse to live on salads only. Even with my ties to the MC, and the fact that I was a club princess didn't matter to them. They still continued to run their mouths and make fun of me. They even had boys try to ask me out just so that they could make fun of me when I would say yes, and then they either wouldn't show up. Or they would laugh at me and make fun of me for thinking that they actually wanted to go out with 'a cow like me.' Those are their words, not mine. After the second boy, I stopped falling for it. I actually gave up the notion of dating. When I was fifteen, one of the beach brigade saw me out with Night-Night. It had been a rough day for me, and I just wanted a break from everything and everyone. When he works at the station, he works three days a week and has the rest of the week off. He was off that evening, and with mom working at the store with Nanna, I was at the Club with dad and the boys. I was sitting in the kitchen at a table finishing up my homework when he came in. He sat down and waited until I was done with it before asking me if I wanted to go get dinner. This was something that we did a few times a week until he started seeing his girlfriend that he had at the time. She didn't like that he spent so much time with me, so we stopped having our weekly dinners. But when he asked me to go that day, I went because I really just needed my friend. We went to the local diner like we use to. I loved going there to eat because there was an older ghost that sat at the counter. He was funny and liked to tell corny dad jokes. After we had eaten dinner, we got a milkshake to go. AAs we were leaving, the girls was coming through the door. When they saw me with Midnight, they started laughing and making fun of me for being out with him. They really embarrassed me when they said that I probably wished that it was a date. And that no one as hot as Midnight would ever date someone as fat as me. And if he did, it was probably out of pity. They kept saying other mean things, but I ignored them and continued out the door. That night was the last time that I saw or spoke to Midnight. On the way back to the clubhouse, he told me that his girlfriend didn't like the fact that he spent so much time with me. He didn't want to stop being my friend. But if he wanted things to work with her, then he had to stop hanging out with me. Since he was the only person other than my family that I spent any time with at the clubhouse, I stopped going around. It hurt that he was choosing her over our friendship. Especially since we had been friends since I was a baby. So I figured that not seeing him and staying away was the right thing to do. So when Mom had to work, I'd either stay alone or go to the shop with her. I spent the next three years making excuses not to go around the clubhouse. I would say that I had homework, or that I was going to hang out with Winnie and Ruby, my best friends. Anything to stay away from there. I didn't want to have to go there and be forced to watch who I thought was my friend with his girlfriend. Anytime that I was around her before our last dinner together, she would always give me dirty looks. She also liked to sneer at me, talk down to me, and make fun of me. So, staying home was the much better choice. In the free time that I now had, I had taken to writing books. My Nanna was the only one who knew that I was writing. I was at the shop one day, and it was slow, so I was writing. It was just her and I at the shop, and she saw me on my laptop writing the book. I told her about my writing book and not wanting to tell anyone. She helped me keep it a secret. She set up a checking account in my name with her as a secondary, but she was unable to withdraw money. It was just so that I would have an account for my money from my books. I decided to write under the pen name of Maple Eclipse. It was weird and unusual, but that worked for me. After all, I was weird and unusual as well. I started writing right before I turned sixteen. And when I turned eighteen, I already had four best sellers. I had made so much money from my books, thanks to Nanna. She had helped me find a great publishing house. And worked out a really good deal for my books. I decided to continue on with my writing, as well as work in the shop after I graduated from high school. At first, I didn't want to go to college, but I decided to do online schooling. I had plans to move out to our family property on the bayou. My Nanna's family owns a couple hundred acres of land deep in the bayou. After talking to Nanna about it, I decided to build a house and move out there. I hate dealing with people anymore and love nature. So it's the perfect solution for me. I already sat down with Dad and designed it how I wanted it. Most of the property is all swampy, but there is some land that would be perfect for a house. The spot where we are going to build on thankfully has water hookups and electricity on it. The only way to the land is by boat. The only other way that you can reach the land otherwise is by four-wheeler or side by sides. It's rough terrain, and the trees and brushes are all too close together and too thick to get a car through. I also don't want to disturb the land. The spot that we're going to build on is already clear. We have other areas that are accessible and easier to get to. Like the piece of property that Nanna and Pops live on. Where they live is closer to town. I want to live further out on the property so that I'm not close to anyone. I want my peace and quiet. I'll be able to park my car at Nanna and Pop's house and take my boat out to my house. I can't wait to be able to move out there. When we went out to check out the property, we found the perfect place to build my house. I didn't want to disturb any animal habitats. Thankfully, where we were going to put my house was ok. We wouldn't be disturbing anything. The spot was big enough for the size that I wanted my house. Dad even said that I'd have enough room for a greenhouse in the back. With dad having my brothers, my uncles, and cousins helping to build my house. It didn't take long to get it built. By the time that I graduated from high school, my house was done and ready to move into. It was also fully stocked with furniture and food. I had also moved most of my stuff out there as well. Thankfully, Dad and the boys helped me get everything moved. I couldn't wait to start my new life in my new house on the bayou. I would be away from everyone, including mean girls and ex-best friends. Yes, I would be living alone, but it would be peaceful. I would also have the animals to keep me company. I couldn't wait to start the next chapter of my journey. Let's hope that it ends up being a happier one. My name is Seneca Tempest Ledet, and this is my story. My name is Seneca Tempest Ledet. When my mom and dad named me, they chose Seneca after a place that they visited in West vi'rginiа, Seneca Rocks. Mom said that she thought it was a beautiful place, and she and my dad go back every year for their anniversary. They have even taken us kids there as well, and it really is a beautiful and amazing place. I love it there. For my middle name, Mom was having trouble coming up with one that they liked. So she looked to her cards for one that they could use. When the card of Temperance came up, she somehow got Tempest out of it. She said that she didn't want to use a name that was on the cards, but a version of it was ok. So that's how she came up with my middle name. Since Dad named the boys, he just went along with what she wanted. Here is a little bit that you need to know about me. I am twenty years old, five feet tall even, and a size fourteen (you're not getting a weight out of me, a lady never tells). I have long red hair with blue highlights in it. And when I say long, I mean down past my butt long. I also have heterochromia, which is two different eye colors. One eye is light blue, and the other is grey. I fit right in with my heritage. I always wear long skirts that drag the ground. The best part was that they all had pockets. My shirts used to be flowy and show skin, but not so much anymore. Girls in high school were mean, and my confidence took a hit. I love long, open sweaters and have them in many different colors and styles. I also wear bangles and bracelets on my arms and anklets on my ankles. I wear rings on my fingers and toes as well. I usually pull some of my hair back using hair things that snap in place. I have some with dragons and ravens. I'm sure that I give a hippy chick vibe, but I don't care. I love the way that I dress and look. I come from a pretty big family. There is my Dad Justus, or Chains, as most people know him. And my mom, Rowena or Ro, and my brothers Ezra (Dice) and Elias (Circus), who are twins. And Gabriel (Hoops) and Grayson (Hippy), who are also twins. I'm the only single (and girl) child that my parents had. I also have two nephews, Tate and Koa. Tate is Dice's son and Koa and Circus's son. I also have my grandparents. There were my dad's parents, Ivan (Legend) and Emily Ledet. Or pappaw and mammaw to us kids. And my mom's parents, Kayden and Sonnet Gauthier. Also known as Pap and Nanna. I also have many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Other than my family, I have two best friends who are like sisters, Winifred (Winnie) and Ruby. Those are my family of the human variety. I wasn't a normal kid who had dogs and cats growing up. I always had an animal of some kid following me around. As I got older, it ended up being ravens. I love birds of all kinds, but for some reason, ravens are always flying around me. I even have birdhouses for them. I have two that are almost always with me. My ravens are Ragnar and Mystic. Nine times out of ten, I have one or both of them with me. They like to perch on my shoulders. I had a special shoulder harness made for them to land and sit on. That way, I didn't get hurt by their claws. It fit me perfectly and was made so that I could wear it under my shirts and no one knew that it was there. The best thing was that I couldn't even tell most of the time. I would take them to the store with me when I had to work, and they'd sit out back. Dad built a birdhouse and a perch for them out there. These birds loved me, and when I was in town and the high school mean girls were around, they'd fly over them. You always knew it, too, because you could hear them screaming when they got hit by bird poop. It was hilarious. I have the power to see and speak to ghosts. Honestly, it's just getting on my nerves. I have one that is always with me. His name is Octavius, and all he likes to do is talk about everything. Technically, he was only twenty-five, but he died back in the fifties, so he would be over a hundred now. I don't know how I ended up with him; he's always with me, always around, no matter where I go. I also see ghosts at other places as well, but they stay put when I leave. After graduating from high school, I decided to do my college classes online. I didn't want to move away from my home. So I continued to work with my mom and Nanna at Tarot. When I wasn't working or in school, I was busy writing my books. So far, I have eight best sellers, and I'm working on my next one. I have a motorcycle series that has three books in it so far, and everyone is loving them. Everyone loves them and keeps asking when more will be out. I have all of the social media pages, and I run them. But no one knows that I am Maple Eclipse, not even my family- well, except for Nanna. She knows and supports me, no matter what. She is so proud of how far that I've come with my books, and she's proud of me. She buys my books and supports me by selling them in her shop. When mom asked her why she sold those books, she just said that she had read them and loved the author. I have a feeling that Mom may know that it's me, but she's not said anything yet. When I graduated from high school, Dad wanted to have a party for me at the clubhouse. A couple of the other club brats were graduating as well. And they wanted to have a big party for all of us. I never got along with two of the girls that graduated because they were cheerleaders. They were some of the ones that liked to pick on me. The boys who graduated were prospects in the club, but most of the time, they were downright annoying. Even knowing my dad was the old VP of the club and my oldest brother Dice the new VP, they still liked to pick on me. I didn't tell anyone; I just stopped going around the club. When Dad asked me about going to the club for the joint party, I thanked him but declined. I didn't want him to be upset, so I told him that I had plans with my friends. Which I did, I wasn't lien. They had been planning the party for the whole month before graduation. And I knew that my house would be done before I graduated. So, the girls and I decided to spend my first night in my new home by having a sleepover. So Mom and Dad had a small party at their house for me. I think that they all had an idea of why I didn't go to the clubhouse. But I refused to tell them for sure. I had to get a boater certification to be able to prove that I could drive my boat and be safe about it. After I got the certification, my Pap and Pappaw went together to get my boat for me. Since they all helped my brothers all get a motorcycle, they decided to get my boat for me. I already had an SUV that I drove. I bought it myself with my "wages" from working at the store. I let everyone think that I saved my money up for it. Since Pap had a boat and a dock at his house, I parked my car there and would take my boat to my house. So I picked the girls up, and we went to get junk food before heading out to my house. We picked up regular foods, junk food, sodas, and juice. And then got takeout for dinner. When we got to Nanna and Pap's, we loaded the food up into the cooler on my boat. And then, once everything was loaded up, we headed out to my house. We spent the weekend eating our weight in junk food and watching movies. It was way better than a clubhouse party with my bullies. After graduating from high school, my life became so much better. I graduated with top honors and could go to any college that I wanted to. However, since I didn't want to go out of town for college, I decided to do an online degree. I decided to get two full degrees, actually, with a few minors. I enrolled to get my business administration degree with minors in accounting and marketing. And a degree in English in creative writing. I wanted to be able to help Mom and Nanna expand the business. But I also wanted to continue to write my books and one day open up my own book shop. I wanted to be able to sell the eight that I have written already. And I also wanted to sell books for authors who are trying to make it on their own. It's amazing how many authors are independent today. They self-publish and do what they can to make it on their own. I want to be able to help with that. With the minors in accounting and marketing, I won't have to hire outside help for any of it. I will be able to do it all myself. I also have merchandise for my books that I want to sell in my shop as well. So far, I have only sold it online with my books. Nanna and Pap let me set up shop in their pool house for now. So when I have book boxes that I need to make up and sell, I do it there. Pops doesn't go out to the pool house, and he knows that I use it for something. He just doesn't know what. But I know that he'd keep my secret if he did. It's easier doing it all there than it would be to haul it all out by boat to my house. I don't want anything to get ruined. I know that I need to tell my family, and I will soon. Maybe, possibly, who knows if I actually will or not? I've tried to tell mom many times but keep changing my mind. I'm afraid of what my family will think if they know that I write smutty books. Nanna said that Mom had read them and loved them and would be proud of me. But if she's read them, then she knows how smutty that they get. It makes me nervous. I decided years ago, when I was small, that I wanted to build a house on my Nanna and Paps' property. It's accessible if you go through the woods, but the main way to it is by water. It's a beautiful spot, and I loved it, so Pap said that when I was ready, he'd have a house built there for me. I was most comfortable when I was in the woods, surrounded by water. It was my favorite place to be. Before I graduated from school, Dad, Pap, and the rest of our family got my home built. It's a cute two-story house with three bedrooms. It had two and a half bathrooms, a master bathroom and another upstairs between two of the guest rooms. Downstairs is the half bath. My downstairs is an open concept kitchen, living room, and dining room. The only other rooms downstairs are my office, the bathroom, and a big pantry. I have a wrap-around porch with a dock that goes out to the water, where there is a spot to park my boat. Dad built a carport-like structure over the water to go over my boat to protect it from the rain. The setup of my house is different. I wanted to be able to see the water from my living room and kitchen. When you walk into my house, the kitchen and pantry are on the left and the living room on the right. My dining room is on the left at the back of the house. And my office and half bathroom are on the right side of the back of the house. I also have a closet that is for the cleaning supplies. The steps to go upstairs are between the living room and my office and are spiral steps. When you go upstairs, you step out into my hallway. Right beside the stairs is a linen/storage closet. It's where I have my extra blankets and pillows. On the right, towards the back of the house, you have the guests' bedrooms with a jack-in-jill bathroom between them. On the left of the house, you have my master bedroom with the master bathroom and a walk-in closet. I wanted my room to face the water. I love to be able to hear the water when I go to sleep at night. I even had a balcony built onto my room so that I could go out at night and sit. The tub in my bathroom is a huge garden tub, and I have a stand-up shower big enough to fit eight people. It has lots of jets and shower heads in it, the garden tub has jets as well. I love taking bubble baths, so I wanted a tub big enough for me to soak in. Both of them face the water, and on the other side of my bathroom is the double sink, and in the back corner is the toilet room. I also have a closet in there for towels, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, and other bathroom products. Outside on my porch, one side of it is wider than the rest on the front. That's so that I could have a swing bed. I wanted to be able to lie outside at night and enjoy the evening. My dad even built me a few big birdhouses to put in the yard on each side of the porch. They are on each side of the steps and up high enough that they are level with my porch. Since I now seem to have a couple of raven friends, Dad figured that I'd need them. On the back side of my house, I had Dad build me a gym. I wanted to be able to work out, but I didn't want the gym in the house. So, we connected it with a walkway. It goes from the back porch out to the gym building. It's as high as the porch and even has a roof so that I don't get wet walking to the gym. While it has rails most of the way down, it also has steps on each side to lead down to the yard. And those spots have gates on them. The gym has everything in it that I need to work out. I have a treadmill, weight bench, exercise bike, leg press, heavy bag and speed bag, and so much more. I've been going to the gym for the past few years, and I wanted to be able to continue to work out. I also picked up yoga mats so that I could do yoga as well. I wanted to feel good about myself again, for me, not because of what those girls said. But for me. Dad also built me a big greenhouse so that I could plant fruits and vegetables and not have to worry about animals getting into any of it. I've been growing fresh foods in it for a while now. I take Mom, Nanna, and Mammaw a basket every time that I see them. The walkway to the gym spits off right before you get to the gym. One walkway goes to the gym and the other to the greenhouse. It's to keep me protected from alligators. I love my house and the fact that I am so far away from people. It's so peaceful out here, and I don't have to worry about dealing with bullies. I'm able to get my schoolwork and my writing done in peace. Well, mostly, I usually have to listen to Octavius' moaning. But most of the time, he's outside, running his mouth to Ragnar and Mystic. He doesn't like the birds being so close to the house. So he's always running his mouth to them and me about it. He can be a bit annoying for a dead guy. But that is my life. Welcome to my little corner of weirdness. Straight jackets are to the left, and crayons and coloring books are to the right. Come and join the weirdness and madness with me. Seneca It's a couple of weeks before Easter. And I decided to go into town today to do some shopping for it. My oldest brothers both have little boys. Dice's little boy is three, and Circus's little boy is a year old. Since I don't yet have kids of my own to spoil rotten on holidays, I spoil my nephews. I also have Dad's birthday this weekend, so I need to pick up his present. So today, I'm heading to Nanna and Paps' house so that I can grab my car. I had planned to stop by the dinner for lunch and then go shopping. I needed to do some grocery shopping while I was out today, so I grabbed both of my big coolers as well as my reusable bags. After putting my bags in one of my coolers, I take them both down and put them in my boat. Then I go back up and grab my purse, phone, keys, and the bag of trash that I have. After locking the front door to my house, I look over to where Ragnar and Mystic are sitting. "I'm heading out to go to town. If you're both staying here, watch the house. If you're going with me, let's go," I tell my ravens. I know that they can't understand me, but sometimes it really seems like they do. I know it's probably crazy as well to talk to animals, but who else am I going to talk to out here? I walk down the dock, put the bag of trash in the boat, and tuck my purse in the cubby. I get back off the boat and untie it from the dock, and then jump back in. Before I can start it up or move, Ragnar lands on my shoulder. I guess he's going with me, and Mystic is staying here. Of course Octavius is already in the boat. Once I'm settled in the boat, I start it up and back out of my spot. Once I'm clear from the dock, I put it in forward and take off towards Pap and Nanna's house. I love the drive to get there. It's so peaceful and quiet. There are so many cypress trees in the water. A lot of them are below the water, but out along the sides, there are some as well. Cypress trees are protected down here, and you can get fined a big fine if you're caught cutting them down. Especially if it's on public property. A couple of my tables in my house are made from them. But it was ones that had fallen down, and we found them. Dad used them to build the furniture for me. It's such a beautiful wood, and the furniture looks so amazing. I love it all. I even have some of the lumber from the trees still. I just have to figure out what to do with it now. I'm thinking that I'll save it and use it to build a baby bed one day. It would make a beautiful baby bed. It didn't take long to get to Nanna's house. When I get close, I slow my boat down and get ready to dock. Ragnar is squawking to me. I'm sure that he wants to hang out around the Tarot shop today. He loves to go to town, but seems to hate most people. So he sits back there at his little house and spends the day with Nanna and Mom when I have to run errands. Mystic usually always stays at the house. When I got the boat closer to the dock, I saw Pap and a couple of the Mc guys outside by the driveway. When Pap heard me coming, he started to walk towards the dock. So when I pulled in, he was there to help me tie the boat to the dock. Once the boat was shut down and tied up, I stepped off the boat and into Pap's arms. I squeezed him tight before I let go of him. "Good morning, sweet girl. How are you doing today? Nanna said that you had today and tomorrow off, so I didn't think that I'd see you for a couple of days." Pap told me. "Yeah, I've got the day off, but I need to run some errands. I'm going to drop Ragnar off at the shop and then stop by the dinner for some food before going shopping. Easter is coming up, so I need to get stuff to make baskets for the nephews. I also need to go to the grocery store. And I gotta go buy dad a birthday present. I figured that I'd get everything done today so that I could work on other stuff at the house tomorrow." I told him. "Well, I've not got anything to do this morning. How about if I join my favorite granddaughter for breakfast? We've not spent much time together lately. I'd love to spend some time with you if it's ok." Pap said. "I'm your only granddaughter, Pap. And I'd love to have breakfast with you. You know that I love spending time with you. Just let me grab my purse and my reusable bags out of the boat." I told him. I stepped back into the boat to grab my stuff. "Gotta go shopping again and deal with more Dam people. I don't know why you can't just get a husband and stay home like women are supposed to. Back in my day..." Octavius grumbled. "Yeah, yeah, Octavius, I know. Back in your day, women stayed home and took care of the house and popped out kids left and right. This isn't back in your day; this is my day. Now hush, please." I told him. I handed the bag of trash to Pap, and he took it to the garbage bin. I then grabbed my purse from the cubby, my bags from the cooler, and my keys from the switch. I lifted my skirts and stepped back up on the dock, and headed for Pap. After dealing with the trash, he went to tell the guys that he was going to breakfast with me. Since they were in the driveway, I would walk right past them to get to my car. When I went to walk past them, I saw that Onyx, Storm, and Midnight were all standing there. Pap wasn't part of the club, but spent a lot of time there because of my family. So it wasn't unusual for him to be hanging out with the guys. He did go to school with a few of them as well. Onyx reached out to me and pulled me to him, and picked me up off the ground to give me a big bear hug. From the time that I was little, I have always called him Pappa. I couldn't say Onyx, so I just started calling him Pappa. He was more than ok with it since he had six kids and only one of them was a girl. "Come here, beautiful. You're a sight for sore eyes, you know that. We've missed you. You stopped coming around, and it's been forever since we've seen you. You're coming this weekend for your dad's birthday party, right?" He asked me. "I've missed you to Pappa. Hello Storm, Midnight. It's nice to see you both again. I'm sorry that I've not been around Pappa. I've been busy. Between work and college, I don't do much else. I'm working on two degrees with two minors for the one degree. So when I'm not working at Tarot, I'm at home doing school work. The girls and I get together a couple of times a month for a few hours, or they'll come stay with me. Other than that, I make a trip once a week to town to the grocery store. Mom told me about Dad's party. I have the night off, so I'm going to try to make it. I've got a big test coming up and I've been studying for it. But I'm going to try. I'm actually going to pick up his present today while I'm out today." I told him. "I sure do hope that you come for it, and I know that your dad would love to see you there. Everyone would, actually. Kayden said that he was going to breakfast with you. Do you mind if I tag along? I've missed you, girly," he said. "I don't mind at all, Pappa," I told him. He turned to talk to Storm for a minute, and I told Pap that I was going to go put my stuff in my car. Hopefully, Ragnar and Octavius both got in as well. They were both getting on my nerves. When I got to my SUV, I hit the button on my keys to unlock it. As I went to open the door, a milk chocolate arm reached past me and opened it for me. "Thank you, Midnight," I said. "Midnight, really? What happened to Night Night? You were the only one that was allowed to call me that. And now not only do you not call me that, but you ignore me as well. I've not seen you or spoken to you in five years, Tiny Tot. I thought that I was your best friend, and then you just ghosted me. You wouldn't answer my calls or texts. You stopped coming to the clubhouse. And if I recall correctly, the last time that I saw you was the last time that we went to the diner for dinner. After that, I didn't see you again. Why?" he asked me with a pissed off look on his face. I tossed my stuff in the car and then turned to him. "Really, MIDNIGHT! I didn't think that you would notice that I wasn't around. After all, before that night, it had been months since we had hung out. And that night after we left the dinner, you told me that you couldn't hang out with me anymore. All because your little beach of a girlfriend didn't like you hanging out with me and you agreed not to anymore. Yeah, I heard everything that you said on the phone to her that night. So you got your wish, and I stopped bugging you or going around you. I left you alone so that she could have you all to herself and you weren't saddled with a baby. Not only that, but as long as I wasn't around you, I wasn't around her. And if I wasn't around her, then I didn't have to deal with bullying from not only her but the other girls of the club. I've been so much happier since I stopped going around the club. And I'm not about to be pulled back into drama again. So if you're still with her, stay away from me." I said lowly to him so that no one else heard me. Out loud, I yelled to Pap and Pappa and told them that I'd meet them at the diner. I had to drop Ragnar off with Mom first. Then I jumped into my car, put my seatbelt on, started it up, and left. I was so mad at Midnight right now. I can't believe that he was trying to put this all on me for staying away. I really hope that he doesn't show up to the diner. I can't deal with him anymore today. Seneca After I pulled out from Pap's and Nanna's house, I headed to Tarot. I was going to drop Ragnar off, let Mom and Nanna know he was there, and then head to dinner. It was hard not to drive fast to get as far away from Midight as I could. He had me so pissed off. I couldn't believe that the whole thing was trying to put the blame on me for not seeing him for so long. I have to say that I was hoping time would've been hard on him. I wished that he would have gotten fat and ugly, but unfortunately, that's not how it went. Oh no, he's so hot right now. He is even bigger than he used to be. I mean, his muscles are so big that he could pick me up with no problem. Not only was he hot now, but so wasn't Storm. Between the size of Midnight and Storm, both of them actually made me feel tiny. They were both huge as. Their arms are massive and thick. I remember when I hung around the clubhouse, the guys were always working out. It was usually Reaper, Storm, and Midnight, the three musketeers, as Dad always called them. They were always together. I haven't seen Reaper in a while. I'm sure that he was busy with club stuff. But I'm sure that he's just as huge as Storm and Midnight. Of course, they have always been much bigger than me. They are all well over six feet tall and over two hundred pounds. I may be short and chunky, but I bet that they could all bench press me. Not that I'd ever let them try. I don't need them to feel how heavy I am. It's bad enough that they can see it. It takes me about twenty minutes to get to the shop. When I got there, I pulled around to the back of the shop. When I parked my car, I opened my door, and Ragnar flew out and straight to his perch beside the back door. I just shook my head at him as I grabbed my keys and purse and got out of the car. Thankfully, my phone was in my purse when I jumped in the car, so I didn't have to worry about grabbing it. I got out of the car and walked over to the back door of the shop. We always kept it locked, but I had my key, so I used it to get inside. After locking the door back, I headed to the front of the shop. When I got to the front, Mom was on the other side of the room, sitting at the table with a customer. And Nanna was behind the counter, close to the door, ringing someone up. Since Mom was busy, I headed towards Nanna. I walked behind the counter, and when I got to her, I kissed her on the cheek. "Good morning, Nanna. How are you this morning?" I asked her. "Good morning, sweetheart. I'm good. How are you this morning? And what are you doing in town? You've got the day off. I figured that you'd be home enjoying your couple of days off." Nanna said. "That's the plan for tonight and tomorrow. I have schoolwork to get done, plus writing as well. But I needed to go to the grocery store today. Plus, I need to shop for Dad's birthday present and Easter gifts for the boys. This morning, though, I now have a breakfast date with a couple of older men." I told Nanna. "Older, you say? And who might that be?" she asked me. "Pap was in the driveway with Pappa, Storm, and Midnight. When I told Pap that I was going to breakfast, he asked to join me. And when Pappa found out, he wanted to go as well. I told them that I'd meet them there. Ragnar came to town with me. He's out back on his perch. I'll pick him up before I head back home. I don't plan to be in town for long. After breakfast, I'm going to go grab the stuff that I need and my groceries and get back home. If I'm in town for too long without working, then Octavius will beach and moan. He doesn't mind being here because he's got the old man next door to talk to. But when I go shopping, he just plays dumb. Women shouldn't be doing this or that, Yada Yada. He's still so old-fashioned." I told Nanna. She started laughing at me and then said, "Well, it sounds like you'll have a good morning. I know that your pap loves to spend all of the time that he can with you. I bet that you end up with your dad there as well. From what I have heard, you've been missed around the clubhouse. It's been a while since you've been there. I'm sure that everyone will love to see you for your dad's birthday. And I know that he would love for you to be there. And there is nothing wrong with being old-fashioned." "Yeah, I'm going to try to go. I don't really like going there anymore for personal reasons. But I'll try. It looks like you have another customer, and I have a breakfast date. I'll stop back in when I stop to pick up Ragnar. Tell Mom that I'll see her in a little bit. I'll bring you both back lunch when I stop back by. I love you." I told her. "Ok, sweetheart. I'll tell her. Thank you, and I love you too." Nanna said. I kissed her on the cheek and then left her to help a customer. I went to the back and out the door, locking it back on the way. When I got outside, Ragnar was on his perch, sleeping. So, I quietly walked past him and headed to my car. I headed to the diner, which wasn't far away from the shop. It was only about a five-minute car drive. When I pulled in, I saw that Pap and Pappa's bikes were already there. Pap wasn't a part of the club, but he still rode a motorcycle. Other than their bikes, I also noticed a few others as well. One of which being my daddy's bike. Walking to the door and after opening it, I stepped in and looked around. I saw the guys all sitting at a group of tables on the left side towards the back. Not only was Pap and Pappa there, but my dad and a few others were as well. And unfortunately, that included Midnight as well as Storm and Reaper. FYI, I had no problem with Storm and Reaper being here. And the three of them were hard to miss because of how huge they all are. Midnight is thirty-six and six-foot-seven, three hundred and fifty pounds of solid muscle. His actual name is Roman, and he's a firefighter and a bodyguard, so his being so huge helps with his jobs. He's got black hair and the prettiest light green eyes I've ever seen. He's also half black, so he has skin that's like milk chocolate. He's the enforcer of the club and is best friends with the president and the club doctor/road captain. The club president is Killian, better known as Reaper to the club. He is thirty-five and is six-foot-six and three hundred pounds of solid muscle. He has brown hair and beautiful, dark green eyes. He is the president of the club and has taken over as CEO for all of the club's businesses as well. And the club has many businesses that they own and operate. And the club doctor/road captain is Gideon, better known as Storm, to the club. Storm is thirty-three and six-foot-four and two hundred and fifty pounds of solid muscle as well. He has blonde hair and amazing hazel eyes that have brown, blue, and green in them. He is the club doctor as well as a top surgeon. He has his degree in both surgical medicine as well as family medicine. He has a practice in town that he runs and also does shifts at the hospital when needed. On top of that, he is also the road captain for the club. It can get pretty busy for him when they have trips to go on, but from what I'm told, he loves both of his jobs. Just like all of the guys in the club, they all have jobs that they love to do. I don't know one that would trade their job for another. All three of these guys have been best friends since they were babies. After I spotted where they were sitting, I headed in their direction. There was a spot in between Midnight and my dad. And one between Pap and Pappa. I decided to sit between Pap and Pappa. I headed to sit between them and said, "Hello, everyone. This is a surprise. I thought that I was only going to have two breakfast dates this morning." Everyone stood up, and I hugged Pap and Pappa, then stepped around to hug Dad. "Good morning, baby girl. I called Kayden this morning, and he said that he and Onyx were going to breakfast with you. I've not spent much time with you lately since you've been so busy. So I figured that I'd join you. I hope you don't mind me tagging along." Dad said. "Of course I don't mind. I get my three favorite men this morning, plus three others. I'm a lucky girl," I said with a wink. After hugging my dad tightly, I shook the other three's hands and then went back to the seat between Pap and Pappa. I sat down and tucked my purse between my knees after putting my phone and keys in it. The waitress came over to get my drink since the guys all had theirs, and I ordered a glass of orange juice and a mocha caramel iced coffee. After she had walked away, I looked at Pap and said, "I told Nanna that I had a breakfast date with a couple of older men this morning. She laughed when she heard who my dates were. She even called it that Dad would end up being here as well." "What can I say? I've not seen one of my favorite girls very much, and I've missed you. You've been a busy beaver lately. Between work and college, we don't see you much." Dad said. "Yeah, I've got a big test coming up, so I've been busy. When I'm not working, I'm doing my college classes. And studying for this test on top of that. I don't have much longer to go for this semester. And when it's done, I only have one semester left," I told them. "Your dad said that you were double majoring in college. What are you going for?" Reaper asked me. I'm going for a bachelor's in business administration with minors in accounting and marketing. And a degree in English in creative writing. I want to be able to help Mom and Nanna more with the business and maybe one day open a bookstore." I told him. "That's awesome, Small Fry. You always did have your nose stuck in schoolwork or a book when you were at the clubhouse." Storm said. "What can I say? I liked to read and still do. So what have you guys all been up to?" I asked them. We talked about what they had all been doing lately, and when the server came around, we placed our orders. I got home fries, a biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon. Breakfast was good, as always. The food from the diner was always good, though. As we were eating, Dad asked me, "What are your plans for the day, baby girl?" "After breakfast, I have some errands to run. I need to go shopping for stuff to fix up Easter baskets for the boys. And I also have a birthday present to buy for some old man. After that, I have to go grocery shopping to stock up for the week. I also told Nanna that I'd drop lunch off for her and Mom when I pick up Ragnar. Then I'm heading home. After I get everything into the house and put away, I plan to relax on the bed swing on the porch and work on schoolwork. I've got tomorrow off tomorrow as well. And I'm going to spend it around the house." I told Dad. "Where is your house at? When you're done with your errands today, I can follow you home and help you get everything in. It's been a while since we spent any time together." Midnight said. "Unless you have a boat or can swim, you won't be following her home. She drives to Kayden's house and parks there. Then she loads her boat up and drives home. Her house is way back in the bayou on the family property. It's a nice little spot that she's got back there. Between Kayden, my dad, me, my boys, and the other men in our family, it didn't take long to get it built. It's a nice house and perfect for her." Dad told him. "I love my little oasis of peace. I can't be bothered way back there. There is only one way in, and it's by boat. I mean, someone could go through the woods, but it would take forever because of the trees and undergrowth. It helps to keep the pests away. And I don't need any help. I've lived out there for two years now. I've got it all figured out as far as getting all of my stuff into the house. But thanks, though. I'm sure that you have more important things to do anyway," I told him with a smirk. I was looking right at Midnight when I said it. He's the only one who caught my meaning. I could see the slight tick in his jaw from where he was pissed at me. Oh, he'll get over it soon enough. I wasn't ready to figure him for ditching me for her. Even if he made my lady, bits sit up and take notice. After all, he wasn't the only one that they noticed. After seeing Midnight, Reaper, and Storm, I'm pretty sure that my panties are drenched. Did I tell you how fcking S**y they are? I mean, you really should see them. I bet they'd make your panties wet as well. Midnight My name is Roman LeBoeuf, better known as Midnight. I'm a member of The Cajun Gator MC. I joined because every man in my family had been a part of the club. Where most brothers joined at eighteen, I didn't join until I was twenty-one. I have a pretty extensive family. There is my dad, Rock, and my mom, Luna. I have three brothers, Ghost, Oracle, and Nytro. And I've got two sisters, Melody and Serenity. All of my grandparents are still alive. I have my dad's parents, Blackness and Leilani. And my mom's parents, Rock and Nova. My dad's family is black, and my mom's is white. Mom and Dad grew up in the club, and when Mom turned eighteen, Dad finally married her. There was an age difference between them, but my dad waited for her to turn nineteen before telling her how he felt. He didn't really notice Mom until she turned seventeen. He said that after she turned seventeen, she turned into a beautiful woman, and he felt like a perv. Here he was, twenty-five, lusting after a kid. Of course, he never even tried anything with her until she was nineteen. Then all bets were off, and after two months of dating, they were married. Turns out, Mom had been in love with him for years. When I graduated from high school, I joined the military. I wanted to be a Marine, so I decided to join. I made it through boot camp and was sent on my first tour. My team and I went on the first tour, and after we got back, we were sent out on an undercover mission. We had been on that mission for months and finally took down the guys we were after. We got word of another person who was supposed to be working with the guy that we were after. When we went to the location that we were told about, we hit a roadside bomb. Thankfully, it didn't go off until right after we passed it. But it still hit us and hurt my entire team pretty badly. I was in the hospital for months. I almost lost my leg, but thankfully, they were able to save it. I had to do months of therapy and have the scars still. I was medically discharged from the Marines, so when I got out of the hospital, I came back home. When I got back here, I started to prospect for the club when I was healed up. People think that I got the name Midnight because I'm half black and my skin is the color of milk chocolate, as my Tiny Tot says. But I really got my name because of her. When I first joined the military, she had just been born. She was such a cute baby, and when Chains and Ro were at the clubhouse, I was always carrying her around. When I moved back, she was around two and wasn't able to say my name. So she started calling me Night Night. When I became a full brother, the guys decided to name me Midnight for her. She became one of my best friends even though there were so many years between us. I spent most of my free time with her until she turned fifteen. When she was small, you could almost always find us together. She loved to curl up in my arms and play with my long hair and beard. When she turned fifteen, I saw that she was turning into a beautiful girl, and just like Dad. So I got a girlfriend and stopped spending so much time with my Tiny Tot. I still spent time with her, just not as much at first. But when the girl that I was seeing got pissed at me spending time with Tiny Tot at all, I had to stop. So I made the biggest mistake of my life and pushed Tiny Tot away. I chose my girlfriend over one of my best friends just so that I wouldn't feel bad about my feelings for her. Of course, Dad and Mom both caught on to what was going on and cornered me. They invited me home for dinner and told me to leave the girlfriend behind. Mom hated her and didn't want her at her house. She said that she was just a patch chaser, and I didn't believe Mom at first. When I got to the house for dinner, Mom and Dad both started on me. They wouldn't stop until I admitted everything to them. All that they had to say was that I had to be patient and wait. When she was old enough, then we could be together. If only I would have known then how much pushing her away would hurt her and make her hate me. Of course, they didn't know my other secret, and I wasn't about to tell them. Not when we couldn't even figure it out ourselves. Reaper, Storm, and I have always been close. We were close in age, and growing up, we became best friends and more. The first time that we shared our feelings with each other, we were fifteen. That's also when we lost our virginities. We knew that we liked girls, but we also liked each other. Since we told each other everything, Reaper finally sat us down one day when his parents were not home and told us how he felt. I have to say that I was surprised because I thought that I was the only one who felt that way. But no, both he and Storm felt the same way. We all had romantic feelings for each other. After that first time together, we were together many more times. We would share women between us, but we never felt comfortable being ourselves with them. But we all agreed that one day, we would find our dream girl, and when we did, we'd be ourselves with her. She would be the only woman to witness us together like that. When Tiny Tot turned fifteen, and I pushed her away, I pushed the guys away as well. They didn't want anyone to know that we were all together yet, and I did. Not only that, but I wasn't the only one to notice Tiny Tot. Both of them did as well. They didn't say anything, but I knew them well enough that I could tell. After a couple of years of us not getting along, the guys and I finally sat down and worked things out. By that time, I had finally broken up with my girlfriend because guess what? My mom was right, and she was just a patch chaser. She wanted to be an old lady of the club. She thought that if I married her and gave her my patch, then she'd not have to work ever again. She found out real fast how wrong that she was. After I broke up with her, she wouldn't leave me alone. So I got a restraining order against her, and she was banned from all club property. She wasn't allowed back at the clubhouse, my house, any of the businesses owned by the club, or even ones that were just affiliated with the club. Thankfully, I've not seen her in a while, so I'm hoping that she gave up. The guys and I finally decided to come clean to the club. It took a lot of talking and decision making, but we finally let them know in church one day that we were together and had been for years. So much for hiding, though, because they already knew. They were just waiting for us to tell them. That wasn't all that they knew, either. Chains let us know that he knew how we felt about his daughter. He also understood because his wife was younger than he was as well. He told us to wait until she was twenty before approaching her. That right now, she had a lot going on. But he would let us know how she was doing and keep us updated on her. We were all there at her graduation and even wanted to have a party for her. It ended up being a joint party for all of the club kids that graduated, though. We knew that she had some problems with a few of them, we just didn't know why. So Tiny Tot didn't end up coming to her party. Instead, she spent it with her friends at her new house on the bayou. The guys and I decided that we would let her finish college before we approached her. We wanted her to get her degree first. But then I went with Onyx and Storm out to Kayden Gauthier's place. He is Tiny Tots' grandpa, her mom's dad. Kayden and Sonnet own Sonnet's family land, and Tiny Tot built her house on the back side of the property. Way back on the bayou. When he came today, it was to talk to Kayden about the surprise birthday party that we were going to have for Chains. Ro wanted to surprise him with it since it was his fiftieth birthday. Both she and Sonnet were at work, so we were working on the party for her. At least the stuff that we were allowed to do. Which wasn't much with these women. As we were standing there talking, we could hear a boat coming. Kayden said, "It sounds like my girl is on her way. I'm sure that Sonnet told me that Seneca had the day off work. She must have errands to run or something." "I miss Seneca, she's not been around to the club in years. I miss seeing her." Onyx told Kayden. "Yeah, she doesn't really go much of anywhere anymore. She works at Tarot for so many days a week with Sonnet and Ro. And the rest of the time, she's at home working on schoolwork. The only time she goes anywhere is if it's to the grocery store. She loves her house and spends most of her free time there. I wonder what brought her out today?" he said. I couldn't wait to see her, it had been so long since I'd seen her face to face. The only thing that I had seen were pictures, and after seeing her get off her boat, I decided that they didn't do her justice. Storm, who was standing beside of me, whispered, "Do you see her? Did she get more beautiful or what? She is hot, and I can't wait until she is ours. I wanna sink my teeth into her b*tt*m and hold on to those lush hips as I'm pounding into her!" I just chuckled at him and said, "I agree with you on it all, and I can't wait, either. I missed her so fkn much. And try thinking about your parents hаving s*x, that'll get rid of the boner." I laughed at him when he gave me a dirty look and muttered, "That did it!" I just smirked at him and shook my head. I was glad that we were standing far enough away from Onyx that he didn't hear our whispered conversation. When she finally walked up to where we were standing, I wasn't prepared for her to basically ignore me. After she walked over to her car to leave, I followed her. I wanted to talk to her, but we ended up arguing and I said something that I didn't mean. When she left, I decided that we would go to breakfast with them. Storm agreed with me and even called Reaper. We weren't going to let her get away, now that we finally had her in our sights again. So we followed Onyx and Kayden into town and met up with Chains and Reaper. But of course, like all things, it didn't go the way that I had planned. Seneca was really pissed at me and I wasn't sure that she would ever forgive me. I had to get my girl back, and I would somehow. Storm My name is Gideon Dante Landry, better known as Storm, to the club. I'm a doctor and I own my own clinic. I'm a family physician as well as a surgeon. I'm the club doctor as well as the road captain. I joined the Cajun Gators when I was eighteen. I started to prospect while in high school and continued through college. I juggled being the brother's Beach boy while doing schoolwork and working part time. I'm thirty-three and a big guy at six feet four and two hundred and fifty pounds. I have blonde hair and hazel eyes. I've been in a relationship with my two best friends for a couple of years now. Reaper and Midnight are also a part of the club. All we are missing is the girl that we all want. But I'll get to that in a minute. My blood family is not your average family. I have two dads, Cayden or Cruz, as he's known to the club, and Grady or Omen, to the club. And my mom, Georgia. I have one brother, Grandy, or Ink, to the club. And one sister, Genevieve or Vie, as we call her. Then there are my grandparents, all six of them. My grandpas are all members of the club, and they met their old ladies because of the club. And my parents grew up together in the club even though my dads are a few years older. You have my mom's parents, Karson (Law) and Gemma Fortier. My dad, Cruz's parents, Wade (Lucifer), and Aspen Landry. And my dad, Omen's parents, Mack (Major) and Sage Boudreaux. I'm honestly amazed that my parents didn't have more kids than just the three of us. Growing up, it seemed like every time we turned around, my parents were sneaking off. Be it to their room in the clubhouse or their room there house. They have also been known to sneak off to the barn that sits on my grandparents' property. When my grandparents and all of the other old timers of the club stepped down and handed the reins over. My grandparents decided to combine their properties together and turn them into a farm. Not only did it give them something to do, but it was a great place for all of the grandkids to hang out. My brother, sister, and I used to spend our summers staying there with all of our cousins. That was probably some of the best memories from my childhood. And part of the reason that I wanted to become a doctor. I spent many summers on the phone with my kit bandaging up everyone's scrapes and cuts, especially the girls'. I started prospecting for the club in high school and continued through my freshman year of college. Thankfully, I only had to prospect for a year since I was born into the club. It's a club rule that those born to members of the club, only prospect for a year. But any outsiders who prospect for the club have to be a prospect for two years to prove themselves. They also get the nastier jobs that are assigned to us. So growing up, I grew up around the other club brats. I remember running around the clubhouse with all of the other kids and taking care of those who got hurt. I remember the day that one of the brothers and his w...
