At Mountain View Academy, we follow a proven Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum to ensure your child can develop and grow without feeling burnt out or forced to learn. Here, your child will choose where to explore, maybe the block area, where they’ll build structures that teach spatial reasoning and early engineering concepts. Then, they’ll move to our discovery area where they will be measuring, pouring, and experimenting with cause and effect to build early math and science skills. Each area is intentionally designed to hit specific developmental milestones while your child explores what they're naturally drawn to. Our teachers observe which areas your child gravitates toward, then tailor activities that meet them exactly where they are developmentally. For example, if your child loves dinosaurs, we’ll use that interest to teach counting, letter recognition, and problem-solving through dinosaur-themed projects in multiple learning centers. Plus, twice a year we’ll sit down with you for conferences where we walk through exactly where your child is developmentally, sharing their personal portfolio that we create documenting these enriching school experiences. This tracks their progress across social, emotional, physical, and language development so you can see the bridge between what's happening at school and how to support them at home.
