Broom, broom 🧹💨 Malleus Maleficarum jackets are on sale! 🖤 Doing some spring cleaning in the shop. ✨️ These are a limited run design, not all sizes are available anymore, but go take a peek if you're interested. 🌙 I'm usually size XS/S and im wearing M here. In 1487, two inquisitors published a book called Malleus Maleficarum (The Hammer of Witches). It became the go-to manual for persecuting women across Europe, labeling them as witches. Disguised as theology, it was basically a medieval burn book: paranoid, cruel, and wildly imaginative in its hatred. It warned of women who “surpass men in wickedness,” who are “more carnal than a man,” and who “deceive, seduce, and destroy.” While the original book was full of fear and hysteria, there’s something strangely iconic about how it described women: irresistible, chaotic, supernatural. Somewhere along the line, the insults started to sound like compliments. And aren’t the villains always more dynamic, more interesting, more relatable? The witch trials were a brutal and horrifying part of history. While it was written to destroy, silence, and control, time has twisted its legacy. Now it carries an air of power, unity, and dark humor. This jacket is intended to be a soft rebellion, and a symbol of unity.
