The Lord gives leaders to equip, mature, and shepherd His people, not to replace His voice or create dependence on themselves. We are not God. Shut down the distractions until you hear from God for yourself. Be prepared to receive His truth, even if it challenges what you've believed. The Body of Christ has many believers whose God-given assignments have been delayed because they are waiting for the approval of man instead of walking in obedience to God.
