What it means to the family to learn of their soldier ancestor’s war A post by the granddaughter of Lt Amarat Shikoh where - It has been the honour of my life to tell the Shikoh and other Indian Amry families how brave and resilient their solder ancestor was in Singapore in WWII. Shikoh used his cover as a broadcaster in the Japanese radio station in the island city to spy against them and when he came under suspicion moved to Malaya with Force 136– documented in detail in the archives. It has also made other families want to investigate their own soldier ancestor and I’m helping them in this quest.
