I meet him at his office before dinner. I hadn’t had a lot of time to get prepared, mentally or physically, with so little heads up, but I’ve made myself look pretty presentable. I’m wearing a short black ruched dress that rucks up over my thighs every time I take a step. The security officer in the building lets me up immediately, and when I get to Paul’s company’s floor, his secretary is waiting for me. “Oh, good!” she says, standing and grabbing her purse. “I’ll show you to his office.” She doesn’t even ask my name, but she must be able to guess who I am, considering the rest of the office is dark. Paul is the last one here. His secretary knocks lightly on his door before opening it. She sticks her head in and says, “Miss St. Germain is here. I’ll be off then!” “Thanks, Janet,” he says. Janet leaves the door open and zooms past me, apparently eager to get out of here. I enter Paul’s office, taking in the view of the water out of his floor-to-ceiling windows. He has a big glass desk and a small seating area where he must take more casual meetings. And then I look at him. He’s staring at me like he’s never seen me before, frosty blue eyes tracing every line of my body. I’ve never been self-conscious of my body, and I know I look really good in this dress, but his gaze almost makes me shy. “Hi.” The word breaks him out of his stupor, and his eyes meet mine. “Hi,” he manages, throat sounding uncommonly dry. “Um, sorry, I have a few more things to get done here – do you mind waiting for a bit? I’ll be fast, I swear.” I bite back a sigh. He did say that he’s been having trouble getting things done. Maybe I should have expected that he’d be working late. “Sure, I can study.” I lift my purse, indicating the study materials inside. “Thanks,” he nods at the seating area, and I plop into one of the chairs. I pull my notebook out of my bag, reviewing the notes I’d already studied that day, trying to commit them to memory before my final exams start in a few weeks. I sigh lightly, ready to be done with law school, and flip another page. A flash of motion catches my attention from the corner of my eye, and I glance over at Paul. He’s staring at me. As soon as I look at him, he looks back down at his desk. I frown but turn back to my notes. A minute or so later, I’m fidgeting in my chair when I see him staring at me again, and again, he immediately pretends to be focused. I wonder if he has a problem with me, or if I have something on my face when I remember his text message from earlier: But I haven’t gotten a single thing done all week because I can’t stop thinking about you, and all the things I want to do to you, and all the things I wish I could say. Is he…distracted by me? I decide to test him out. I’ve been studying all day and, quite frankly, I don’t need to do anymore. So, I drop one hand to my thigh and pretend to scratch the skin, and in doing so, slide the skirt up my leg. I watch out of the corner of my eye as he stares me down, squeezing his pen in his hand so hard I worry he might snap it. The next thing I do is toss my hair over the back of my shoulder, showing off my bare neck and shoulders, hoping to remind Paul of how the last time we saw each other, he had his mouth all over this area. Over the next ten minutes, I push his buttons in every subtle way I can think of. I sigh, little breathy sighs. I let the straps of my dress fall off my shoulders. I even go so far as to trail one thumb over my nipples until they’re hard enough to be visible under the fabric. Finally, I sit back in my seat and let my legs spread just enough for him to get the hint. He slams his hand on the desk, startling me. I look over at him, and he looks positively murderous. Good. “Come here,” he says, none too politely. His voice is gruff, and I hope that means he feels as hot as I do. 👉 Keep Reading for FREE HERE👉 https://dl.bookfunnel.com/zn187sdicr
