Save this post!!! Itโs really important to dial all the settings in when it comes to welding aluminum. And @arccaptain_welding #tig200pacdc has all of them! 1) AC balance is used to adjust how much time you want it to spend on either side of polarity which allows you to choose between penetration and cleaning action. I usually go anywhere between 30% and 50% depending on how clean the metal is. You probably would want more cleaning action when welding castings, especially used ones. 2) Frequency. Itโs the amount of switches of polarity between positive and negative (Hz) and it allows you to choose between faster or slower alternations and gives you an ability to adjust heat input. Higher the frequency less penetration. Which helps to weld thin sheets without completely melting the edges. I usually stick around 120Hz. 3) Amperage - is the amount of power you want to use for any particular thickness and joint type. You want less amperage to weld on open corner and more - in the inside corner. Usually I use around 50amps for every 1/16 thickness for aluminum but I like to have more options and usually set it for higher and fine tune it with the foot pedal. This machine has much more settings like argon pre flow, post flow and pulse. I will make a big post on pulse settings next time if you guys will find this one helpful! #arccaptain #tigweldingaluminum #aluminumwelding #actig
