Some encounters are unforgettable, and this was definetly one of them! We were thrilled to see this incredible Harpy Eagle in the area of Gamboa, Colón, Panama, last week, an individual whose story makes the sighting even more special. Known as **LV**, she was rescued by in 2008 after being shot as a young eagle in Darién. After months of rehabilitation, she was released in Soberanía National Park in 2009 thanks to Peregrine Fund (@peregrinefund). She had a tracking device (which stopped working a few years ago) and against the odds, she not only survived but thrived. Years later, she began making surprise visits to the Canopy Tower, stopping by to say hello. Seeing her again is a powerful reminder of what conservation can achieve when dedicated people come together to protect wildlife. We were happy to see people from all ages gathering together to see this magnificent bird. Have you ever had a wildlife encounter you’ll never forget?
