Our Reactive Rover Class is a behavior-modification program designed specifically for dogs that struggle with aggression towards people, other dogs or both. The first session is an orientation without dogs, giving you the opportunity to learn about the training process and how to best prepare for the upcoming classes. All training sessions are held outdoors at a private location, away from busy areas, people, and other dogs so that we can create a calm, controlled learning environment. When hands-on training begins, each dog and handler team will be placed at a safe and appropriate distance from others. Safety and comfort for both dogs and people are always our top priority. In this class, we focus on helping dogs develop coping skills and confidence while teaching owners how to better understand and support their dog. You will learn how to: Our goal is to change your dog’s emotional response to triggers by using positive reinforcement and gradual desensitization. By creating positive associations and providing clear guidance, dogs learn to feel safer and make better choices in situations that once caused them to react. By the end of the course, you and your dog will gain the skills and confidence to handle situations that previously felt overwhelming, helping your dog remain calmer and more focused in the presence of people and other dogs. Because of the nature of this class, space is very limited to ensure a safe and effective learning environment for all participants.
