I got tired of building a life where I could afford everything… except the time to enjoy it. At first, I didn’t mind the work. Being on call 24/7, traveling, putting out fires, it made me feel important. Like I was the guy people counted on. But after a while, that same job started taking more than it was giving. Plans with my wife got cancelled. Hunting trips with the guys got missed. Time with family became “we’ll do it another day.” And those “other days” started stacking up. That’s when it hit me… I was giving everything to a job and slowly losing the things that actually mattered to me. I spent a lot of time on the road back then. A lot of quiet time to think. I started looking into ways to make money online, but if I’m being honest, I didn’t trust it. I thought most of it was scams. I tried a couple things, lost money, and had no real support. And in the back of my head I kept thinking, “Maybe this just isn’t for a guy like me.” I’m not super techy. I’m just someone who’s worked hard his whole life. But there came a point where I had to be real with myself… if nothing changed, nothing was going to change. And I wasn’t okay with waking up 10–15 years from now realizing I missed my shot to actually live, not just work. I’m an outdoorsman. I don’t dream about sitting still in retirement. I think about early mornings on the water, last light in the bush, a place in the mountains with my family, and being able to throw a line in whenever I feel like it. Not just one day. So I took a shot. Not because I had it all figured out, but because I knew I couldn’t keep going the way I was. And for the first time, something actually felt right. Now I’m building something that gives me a real shot at that life. More time. More control. More of the moments I used to keep putting off. If you’re the kind of guy who works hard, provides, does what needs to be done, but keeps telling yourself “I’ll get to that later” when it comes to the things you actually love… I get it.
