While roughly 1 in 100 children in the UK are diagnosed with autism, it is estimated that around 700,000 people in the UK have a diagnosis. The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of autism and the challenges and strengths that autistic people may relate to. You will learn about characteristics, diagnosis, and how understanding and different theories surrounding autism have developed over time. Unit 1: Autism and behaviour.
