From scrounging for change, to building a better life filled with love and opportunity, Here’s how it went down… It was 5 a.m. I was tearing through my bedroom. Checking drawers, checking pockets. Checking a bank account I already knew was empty. Credit cards... maxed. Loose change. Whatever I could find. Ten dollars. That was it. Not for coffee. Not for groceries. For gas. Enough to get to work and back. Tomorrow is payday. I had been driving a coach bus for 30 years. 60... Sometimes 70 hours a week Behind the wheel. Away from everything. I tried other things. Stock trading, house flipping I couldn't make either work. I looked deep into the mirror that morning. And I said out loud, I cannot keep going like this. I was 3 years on my own by then. No partner. No backup. It was I and whatever change I could scrape together. In June 2024, I made the decision to start something new. I did not know if it would work. But I knew I had to try. One year later, I was in San Diego. In a room full of real people. People who are building something real. It gave me complete clarity that I had made the right decision. Something big was happening, and I was smack dab in the middle of it. Then, January 14th, 2026, life took another unexpected turn. My youngest son's mother lost her battle that night. He came to live with me. We were both filled with grief. We were two people who only had each other. He had stayed with me every weekend prior. But now it is permanent. We were amicable, and we miss her deeply; however, life must continue when they are depending on you. Now every night I get to make his lunch. Now every morning I get to watch him get on the school bus. Now every single day I get to tell him I love him. I go for walks. He rides his bike beside me. I still drive a coach bus full time. I am still building this on the side. Still sketching out plans and dreaming of what could be while he sleeps. Early mornings. Late nights. Whatever it takes. Because he is watching. That is my life now. It's not perfect. But it is mine. The man scrounging for change at 5 a.m.thought owning something of his own was far beyond his reach. Never thought that was for someone like him. I think about him often. He didn't know any of this was possible. He was doing the best he could. If you have ever stood in front of that mirror, Tired. Alone. Knowing something has to change but not knowing what, I see you. You are not broken. You are not done yet. From scrounging for change, to building a better life filled with love and opportunity, I've learned that every step, no matter how small, is a step towards something greater. If any of this lands with you, drop a 1 in the comments, and let’s connect. Or send a message; I'll show you exactly what I started in June 2024.
