Ad text

Are you a performance creator who delights in theatrical surprises, hijinks, and instigating uncanny moments onstage? Are you a performer who prefers dialogue to monologue? Are you a theatrical innovator yearning to find a supportive community within which to take risks and develop your own performance language? Do you have mischief in your bones? Do you wake up thinking of ways to bend time, to share a hidden corner of human experience, and to move with abandon? Consider joining the next class of the Rowan/Pig Iron Devised Performance Program. We are a home for restless creators, rabble-rousers, clown-spirited collaborators, and the future artistic leaders who will shatter the norms and disrupt the status quo, housed within a joyful and rigorous training program. The audition is meant as a chance for us to get to know you as a performance and theatre-maker. The auditions are conducted much like a workshop, moving through the three main components of the Devised Performance Program: Movement, Improvisation, and Creation. Though it is only one part of the entire application process, the audition allows us to meet in a creative space and witness each applicant’s artistic curiosity, collaborative potential, and theatrical imagination. The audition can be undertaken at a variety of stages of the application process - whether as the first step, middle step, or final step. We encourage applicants to participate in one of the group audition dates listed below. If your circumstances prevent you from attending any of the scheduled auditions, we can set up private auditions on a case-by-case basis.
