Our journey begins near the Ramatlabama border before crossing into Botswana and travelling west toward Ghanzi. From there we continue to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta and the last major stop before entering Botswana’s legendary wilderness areas. From Maun we venture deep into the Okavango ecosystem where the real adventure begins. For the next ten days we explore Moremi Game Reserve, Xakanaxa, the Kwai floodplains, Savuti and the remote wilderness of Linyanti. These landscapes are renowned for spectacular wildlife encounters and some of the best safari experiences in Africa. Expect remote wilderness camps, deep sand driving and unforgettable wildlife experiences. Elephants, lions, hyenas, wild dogs and countless other species roam freely through these ecosystems and often move directly through camp. The expedition concludes beside the legendary Chobe River in Kasane where we spend three nights enjoying the remarkable wildlife activity along the riverbanks, including a memorable sunset cruise on the Chobe River. A fuel range of approximately 750 km is required as much of the expedition takes place in remote wilderness areas. Participants must carry sufficient drinking water, meals, snacks and camping equipment for extended off-grid travel. Shops are available in Maun and Kasane during the expedition. Valid passports are required for the Botswana border crossing together with vehicle registration documents and cross-border authorisation if the vehicle is financed, rented or not registered in your name. Third-party vehicle insurance is required for entry into Botswana. Botswana is a malaria area and travellers should consult their doctor regarding appropriate prophylaxis before the expedition.
