Ad text
“I started my journey by planting 150 trees on a patch of barren land. For two years, consistently, my days would begin at 04:30 am with watering and nurturing those plants. Today, more than 280 trees stand tall on this land. I am proud that my initiative has given birth to a place where different lives can co-exist and prosper peacefully. Once, while returning from college, I saw a bunch of pups hanging around their mother, who died in front of them and left them behind, all lost & hopeless. That was the day I refused to see dogs in poor condition. So I got those pups home, treated them, and got them adopted. I adopted one myself - and that’s how my journey started. Initially, I only fed and rescued dogs, but later started spaying them as well. Today, I feed more than 200 dogs and have spayed & vaccinated over 100 dogs, and it’s just the beginning! At first, it felt like I was helping the dogs, but now I realise that it has always been the other way round. It was after I started feeding and spending my days with them that I truly felt happy & fulfilled from within. The love & peace in the eyes of my babies motivates me every single day to wake up and keep doing this work - it has given me umpteen lifelong teachings & lessons and helped me become a better version of myself. After all these years, when I look back, I feel immensely gratified for impulsively adopting those pups that day! This journey that started with a simple act of adopting puppies, over the years, has transformed into a mission. A mission that now reaches the wild, where every rescue demands courage, precision, and responsibility. From caring for vulnerable pups to rescuing apex predators like leopards, the path has evolved and has taken the form of ‘Evolution of Manwithindies Foundation’. The idea is to protect animals, conserve their habitats, and make people aware of wildlife and the environment. I just hope that more and more people learn to co-exist in peace and harmony with other species in our ecosystem. I wish for a peaceful world where people exhibit sustainable tolerance towards the environment and respect other living creatures, whether they have two, four, or eight legs, fins or wings, or roots. Just be kind.” – Ashish Joshi #humansofhindustan
