Our new deck of cards, aptly named “A Deck of Cards” features the work of four of our all-time favorite illustrators: Tara Booth, Lauren Martin, Liana Jegers and Angela Kirkwood. They are each in their own way really wonderful visual storytellers and when we set out to make this we imagined that they would each bring a certain kind of magic to visualizing the suits of a card deck in a really playful way. We love the absolute visual chaos and vulnerability that @tarabooth utilizes in her work. Our hearts will never be the same. @laurenmartin_studio is an a master of bubbly happy and irresistibly cute character driven work that is often imitated but never duplicated. We just had to have a spade in shades. @lianajegers is the queen of visual puns, you might have seen her work in the margins of the New Yorker from time to time. She’s a real wish come true, a diamond in the sky. @angelakirkwood adds the perfect bit of 1970s animation aesthetic with her irresistibly fun creatures and character scenarios. If there is a club angela, we’ll be first in line.
