Many NDIS participants are planning Short-Term Respite stays without knowing the rules have changed. These updates affect what is allowed and how your stay must be claimed. The NDIS now requires STR to be used for genuine respite or skill-building, not holidays or recreation. Providers must also submit detailed invoices that list accommodation, supports, meals and activities as separate items.
