A man had been stuck for 38 years. Thirty eight years y'all!!! Jesus walked up to him at the Pool of Bethesda and asked: Do you want to be made well? The man immediately started explaining his excuses! See the whit...I'm mean...every time the water is stirred, somebody gets there before me. Excuses. Limitations. Disappointments. Thirty-eight years of them. Jesus didn't debate with him. He didn't run talk about him, hold a committee meeting. He didn't create a 5 step plan. Jesus said RISE take up your bed, and walk. And the man had a QUICK decision to make! Stay in the 38 year prison of what had ALWAYS been true...or trust what Jesus just said. Immediately, he got up and walked, did a dance and everything... How many of us are physically able but mentally stuck? Stuck in fear, rejection, unforgiveness, excuses, waiting for the right time!!! God is waiting on us to stop staring at the pool and start obeying His voice. Then Jesus turned around in John 5:39-47 and got even bolder with the people filled with demonic religious spirit!!!!!!!!! JESUS said "You know the Scriptures, but you don't know Me." IS THAT YOU or ME?!?! In other words: We can read the Bible every day and still miss God of the Bible. We can know verses and still not know Jesus!!!!! We can seek approval from people and completely miss the approval from God... Jesus wasn't interested in popularity. He was interested in truth. The healed man had enough faith to get up. The religious leaders had enough pride to stay stuck. SAME JESUS, different decisions...Question: Which one are we today? Stop waiting, explaining and making excuses. Take up your bed and walk! Walk in personal relationship with God! Following Jesus isn't about religion. It's about a relationship with God who created us, loves us and has a purpose for our life. You don't have to live an ordinary life. With God leading your life, you can live a supernatural, extraordinary life filled with purpose, peace, wisdom, power, and eternal hope. The same Jesus who told the lame man RISE, take up your bed and walk is still changing lives today. Maybe today, He's calling you. If you've never given your life to Jesus, today is your day! SAY THIS: Jesus, I know I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins. Wash me, save me, and set me free. I believe You died on the cross for my sins, were buried, and rose again on the third day. I believe You are the Son of God and that You are coming back again for me. Jesus, be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Lead me, guide me, change me, and teach me how to follow You. I surrender my life to You. In Jesus' name, Amen. If you prayed that prayer and meant it with your heart, you've transferred from the kingdom of darkness to Kingdom of Life with Jesus Christ...now you're my brother and sister in Christ!
