Another huge week at the academy — and what a way to wrap it up. 🙌🥋 The last seven days have been packed with classes, competition performances, seminars, and promotions, and it’s been another reminder of what makes this team so special — the people. Last weekend saw both Mason Bland and Jack Morey step onto the mats at the Neon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in Southampton. Mason had an incredible performance, submitting every opponent on his way to winning 🥇 gold in the gi division, before narrowly losing on points in the final to take 🥈 silver in the no-gi division. An outstanding display of skill, pressure, and determination. Jack Morey competed for the very first time at blue belt and showed real heart and composure throughout the day. It wasn’t his day on the scoreboard, but competition is about growth as much as medals — you either win or you learn, and stepping forward takes courage in itself. Respect. 👏 This weekend we were also honoured to host an incredible seminar with Dinu Bucalet, who travelled all the way from Austin, Texas, representing the world-renowned Kingsway gym. The seminar focused on modern back control, positional dominance, and high-level submissions, giving everyone a chance to sharpen their game with some cutting-edge Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu concepts. To finish the seminar, Frazer MacDonnell was awarded his extremely well-deserved blue belt — a proud moment and a reflection of the consistency, effort, and attitude he brings to the mats every week.
