I was working on and off - I was reasonably well off.” But as his mental health declined, he lost his job, fell into debt, and lost his home. For over a decade John was homeless - sleeping in hostels, empty buildings, even graveyards. “I’ve slept in a graveyard, in a mausoleum. I even slept in a Science Park and slept by the air conditioning unit to keep warm.” Everything changed when he received a grant from the Vicars Relief Fund and support from Hope into Action. With his support worker Becky’s guidance, he rebuilt his confidence, cleared his debts, and secured a home of his own.
