I HATE taking showers. ok I need to talk about this because I feel like no one says it out loud. I would literally sit on my bed for an hour knowing I needed to shower and just… not do it. and it's not like I didn't know I was gross. I KNEW. but my brain would start listing every single step like ok you gotta get up, take your clothes off, get cold, wait for the water, wash your hair which means you gotta dry it later, and by step 4 I'm already exhausted and I haven't even stood up yet. I genuinely thought I was just a lazy disgusting person until I got diagnosed and found out this is literally an executive function thing. like my brain treats showering as 15 separate tasks instead of one. anyway I saw someone on tiktok showering with the lights off with some little glowy lamp and I was like ok that's weird but also I haven't showered in 3 days so let me just try it. I got this little mushroom lamp and put it on my shower shelf and turned everything off. I swear to god something shifted. like my whole body just relaxed in a way it never does in the shower. no buzzy overhead light, no bright white everything, just warm steam and this soft glow and suddenly I'm standing there actually enjoying it?? I literally have to drag myself OUT now. that's the plot twist no one warned me about.
