After an emergency event rapid building assessments help make sure that you, your family, and the community are safe. What you need to do: • contact your local council to request a rapid building assessment • get in touch with your insurance company to make a claim • take photos of damage if it's safe to do so Following a rapid building assessment, your building will receive an official placard: 🔴 Red - Unsafe, no entry 🟡 Yellow - Restricted entry (council authorisation required) ⚪ White - Building can be used (may still be damaged) You must follow the instructions on your placard, failure to do so can result in a fine.
