WWII and Freedom of Expression: Hitler's War on Modern Art Teacher Workshop

The National WWII Museum invites middle and high school educators to join us for a free teacher workshop blending art and history to explore the Third Reich's assault on artistic expression and intellectual freedom as well as the stories of those who resisted such oppression. This workshop is designed for art, music, history, and English/language arts teachers. Participating teachers will learn more about the Nazi campaign against modern art and music and World War II’s impact on ideas, values, and the freedom to create. In addition to touring the Museum's new special exhibit Degenerate! Hitler’s War on Modern Art, educators will explore the story of the Monuments Men and Women and leave with strategies, curricula, and Museum resources to use in their classroom. This daylong workshop is free of cost and will include coffee, lunch, and parking in the Museum’s garage.
