"As a parent, one of my biggest concerns with online education was whether it would truly prepare Shepard for college-level coursework and the responsibilities that come with it." That was the question on Shepard's mom's mind when they enrolled in Acellus Academy. At just 16 years old, Shepard graduated with honors. Two months later, he took on a 15-unit college course load and earned straight A's during his first semester, making the President's Honors List. Today, he's pursuing his Associate's degree in Kinesiology while working approximately 20 hours each week, serving in his church's children's ministry, and working toward his goal of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Along the way, he also earned the rank of Eagle Scout and a second-degree black belt in Shotokan karate. Reflecting on the journey, Shepard's mom shared: "Acellus provided much more than academics.
