And the whole story about the fake boyfriend comes tumbling out. "You're going to borrow a boyfriend, Marnie. That'll be step one. What time does he need to show up?" "Eleven. I can text you the address." She's quiet for a moment — hopefully she's writing it down, so she can send me a....what? An actor? A man of the night? "We're going to turn your life around," she says. Maybe I should be more alarmed by all this. Instead, my first response is relief. She's not the motherly figure I was hoping for, but she sounds like she means business. "Let's do it."
